Default Had enough

I want to move to WV, well I dont mind moving anywhere the idea is to get out of NJ, I am not trying to be mean but honest to God I think this is the worst place in the nation to live in on all levels and I believe in my heart of hearts if i dont get out my cancer will come back eventually. So i thought of WV, I just need to make sure I dont move to a polluted or industrial area because of health reasons, I would love to go rural, I work from home so I am practically free to pick any location as long as its environment is not contaminated and it is safe. I love animals, so it would be nice if i move somewhere not far from a kennel or two where I can volunteer. Can you please advise of a location? where can i find listings for property rentals? It would be awsome if i find a cottage or even a cabin? I am planning to move in about 3 to 4 months - That's it NJ I've had it!

You might like Preston County. I know they have an active pet adoption program and operate the adoption program out of the Morgantown Petco with a lot of success...and speaking of Morgantown, Kingwood, the biggest town in the county, is only 30 minutes or so from Morgantown, a decently sized town, so you have the amenities a short drive down route 7.

Check out Elkins too, Its enough in the mountains to get snow, but you will not be getting enough snow to cancell school 15 days a year usually. The Mon. National Forest has its headquarters in Elkins, You can go swimming in the cheat river just a short 5 minute drive to Bowden at Stuarts Park. Elkins offers nearly every fast food place and several sit downs, downtown revitalization is currently underway with many unique shops and businesses. The arts are big in Elkins/Randolph county too, Elkins has the Augusta Festival, Randolph County Arts Center, The Old Brick Playhouse offers many performances, and American Mountain theater offers Branson style entertainmentit. Ekins is also home to the Mountain State Forest Festival, the largest festival/carnival in the state, it showcases the different colors of the mountains as the leaves turn colors in the fall. Quite beautiful. Need anything else don't hesitate to ask Oh we also have an animal shelter, that is always needing volunteers. The Randolph County Humane Society is hoping to build a new shelter in a few years as well.

You could look into Parkersburg, WV area. It's about 30-35k in size but surrounded with small rural areas like Lubeck, Boaz, Williamstown, etc that would still be within 10-15 minutes of anything you'd need (restaurant, grocery store, etc).

The only reason I left this area (well, across the river in Marietta, OH) was a lack of work but if you work from home then that isn't an issue.

I notice you state cancer. If you are a cancer survivor in remission make sure you check all avenues of health care before choosing West Virginia.
Though a beautiful state for peace and quiet, the majority of the state does not offer state of the art health care.

Morgantown WVU would probably provide the best in the state.

Now if this isn't important, then in my opinion you can't go wrong in the majority of the state if your looking to get away. The only area I no longer refer is my home area of Berkeley County, which has taken a wrong turn over the last 20 years. Most West By God natives do not even consider the Eastern Panhandle as part of the state anymore. Just think of the Oranges when it comes to Berkeley on a small scale. A little East Orange, a tiny bit of West Orange, very little South Orange, and heading down the road to Newark.

My favorite part of WV is the Tucker County locations

What part of NJ are you from. I lived there 10 years myself and actually miss NJ. It is very unfortunate that the far left has gained control of the state along with the NJEA and has taxed the populace into hellfire.
One would have thought Florio would have taught everyone a lesson, but no, they had to give us McCreepy, and now Comrade Corzine.

Good Luck Neelix
