I was born and raised in Fairmont( moved away 4 years ago) and I would have to agree with the previous post from David Kennedy. Fairmont is a nice safe place to raise a family. My parents and siblings still live there and I visit often and the job market seems tight according to them. There are some great unique restaurants like Colessesanos, Dutchman's Daughter, Muriale's and Say boys that I absolutely love. It's a twenty-five minute ride to Morgantown which has lots of amenities. You can also easily visit the Bridgeport/Clarksburg area as well in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on where you live. I have lived on the West Side of Fairmont and South Fairmont area. South Fairmont area is ideal for quick access to Interstate 79, Walmart, restaurants and quiet, nice neighborhoods, technology park, NASA, FBI etc. Good luck! I hope you enjoy the area!

I have 2 houses for sale directly by me, the owner of both. 1 2-br 2.5 bath with a partially finished full basement (rest of basement i was going to finishish into the other half of thr .5 bath which is just a toilet to instal. The house is completely open with refinished original woodwork such as the fench doors separating the HUGE family room, entryway from the kitchen and dining room. All new carpet, refinished original oak flooring and baseboard, refinished and textured paint on all walls. 100% Fenced in 1/4 acre flat yard in back (chain link fence) an property has 2nd access via alley in rear of property. 2 car, 2 stall garage with storage in entire detached garage basement. 2 min right outside Barrackville area described above. Barrackville K-6 (or 8, I forget which) is just 2 miles away and is the closest and best school in the area in my opinion. From what teachers I know there, they are the best scholastically and have the best students. My name is matt b. Email is 'exprexo' and that is at gmail (dot com). Sorry for the spelled addresses and numbers, I just don't want spam mail or calls. Cell is area code (three-oh-four)288-"fourteen-sixty-two". Asking price is 85,000 as is but i can negotiate with that number some if I don't have to use a realtor. And 85 is actually a little below what it appraised at after the 08 real estate price drop. Comparable houses in the area have been selling for around 80-90 and mine is immaculate if you look at how well I remodeled. New appliances including dishwasher, 2 refrigerators, microwave, 4 yr old forced air gas heat. I ran ductwork to the top floor which was not there when I bought it. Central Air AC. New tile in 3 rooms, entryway, and around fireplace. New gas log insert in fireplace.
Just look at it, even if it's just to see how much work was done and how nice of a place it is now.
Last info, basement stays dry. Oh and brand new electric hot water, high efficiency. New double hung windows. 6 yr old roof.

Incorrect. As long as your car was previously purchased, and titled in another state, you don't have to pay the tax to get plates.
