New Martinsville West Virginia (Wheeling, Moundsville: house, transfer to, live)

I am a fifty-five year old single woman who is being asked to transfer to New Martinsville West Virginia from large blue-state metropolitan city. The job is fine, but I am concerned about social life. Attitudes toward single (straight) politically-liberal woman. Any advice?

New Martinsville is a very nice town. I am in Moundsville, up the river from New Martinsville about a 1/2 hr. and I love the area. I am a widow and am selling my house because it is a little too big for me, but I have lived there for MANY years and the people are great, neighbors are helpful but not nosey, many things to do. New Martinsville is a little less accessible and you must travel further to get someplace to find activities. Wheeling is only 12 miles from me with plenty of shopping, 1 hour from Pittsburgh, Pa., Lots of shopping there!!!!! If you could possibly consider Moundsville, it would be worth it. The commute would not be too bad for you at all, and the benefits would be good. Good luck to you.
