Default House rentals in Bridgeport

I may be moving for work to the Bridgeport area. I have 2 well behaved 100% housebroken GreatDanes. What is the house rental situation in the area?

If you are going to be working in Bridgeport, I would say look for something outside of the Bridgeport area for housing. It is VERY over priced and you will be spending way too much for what you get.

For example, I looked at a 950 sq ft house for sale that was supposedly a 3/2. The back porch floor was rotted through and the huose wasn't really in that great of shape. It sold for $115,000.

In my mind for the rest of the area surrounding Bridgeport, the house should have gone fro around $60,000 at the most.

I ended up in Grafton, about a 20 minute drive to Bridgeport, and purchased an old house that is a 3/2, 2000 sq ft on .66 acres for $50,000. Admittedly, Grafton is a small city that doesn't have much here. But I was just giving my example for comparison.

You can probably find something much cheaper outside of Bridgeport proper.

Thanks. Is there any houses for rent in the area. I'm not going to buy right off the bat, but having the two dogs puts me at a disadvantage, rent wise. Willing to up the deposit. It just seems that rental-wise there is slim pickings.

You know, when I moved here I had a hard time finding rentals myself. Espicially online. Might try Craigslist and use the Morgantown area to start. That typically encompasses the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area also.

I had moved to Bridgeport about 3 years ago and had the same issue- no rentals that accepted dogs 2 dogs (or a large dog).

I've since relocated to Montana, but can't imagine Bridgeport has changed that much.

House rentals in Bridgeport are hard to come by. Lots of apartments and townhouses ~ but some won't allow dogs and those that do, have a weight limit.

I'd contact a realtor; some of them handle rentals as well.

Fairmont would not be too far away but you might find the same problem.

Good Luck!

The job doesn't start till the end of May. I'm thinking of driving out for a couple of days to look around for houses. Anyone have any hints? I would be comfortable driving 20 minutes from work. (Bridgeport airport)
