It appears that the Verizon tower didnt survive the snow storm. I am showing extended service again in Morgantown on the Law School Hill. Ill edit/post updates as they come..
Verizon needs a customer service center in Morgantown with a retail store.
Makes perfect sense to me and a good question to present to Laura Merritt, she is the verizon Rep. that covers WV. Her email is: laura.merritt@verizonwireless.com

US Cellular launches LTE service in Morgantown, Fairmont, Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Shinnston, Lumberport, Grafton, Beckley, Keyser, and Martinsburg. Check out thier site its a large footprint, hope VZW can get an agreement to share LTE with them?????
Verizon Wireless seems to be well on its way to achieving global dominance. Speaking at the Wells Fargo Securities Technology, Media & Telecom Conference today, VZW CFO, Fran Shammo, stated that the carrier will have its blazing-fast 4G LTE network completely completed by mid-2013, which is about 6 months earlier than planned. And you know what it means when a company actually achieves something ahead of plan - global dominance!
Not really, but we feel the carrier's competitors won't really like this. At the moment, Verizon's 4G LTE network covers about 250 million people, which is around 80% of the nation's population. By the end of this year, this figure should be bumped to 260 million. But what good is a network if there's no one to use it? Apparently, the Big Red machine of the wireless business doesn't have much reason to worry about this, as it has finished Q3 2012 with a total of 14.9 million LTE subscribers, accounting for 35% of the data traffic served by the carrier. Not bad, considering that LTE is still a very new tech.
In comparison, AT&T hopes that it will be able to cover about 150 million people by the end of this year, which isn't so bad as well, considering the carrier's late start in the LTE game.
Verizon Wireless has said that it will have all of their current 3G coverage converted to 4G LTE by mid-2013, but I'm guessing the many parts of West Virginia that are still roaming on U.S. Cellular's 1X network will not be seeing 4G data for quite some time.

That may not actually be the case, Morgantown was in the same situation with 1X extended coverage and they now have 4Glte. Not sure where you live but as of today 4Glte has launched in Wheeling WV.
Verizon was testing LTE in the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area for several hours on tuesday. Had a chance to test performance with Speedtest app, which measured download speeds at 30Mbps and upload speeds of 15.18Mbps. Hope Verizon launches this area soon 3G service has been on the decline for several months now!!
