This is just something I was thinking about, and I doubt would ever happen, but lets say that the economy went so far downhill in WV, that the only economic solution was to surrender its statehood and divide the land among the states around us.

The Northern Panhandle, and North Central WV went to PA, the Eastern Panhandle to Maryland, the Ohio Valley and inland towards Charleston to Ohio, half of southern WV to KY, and the other half to VA.

would you:

A-stay where you are and adopt another state as your own

B-move to another state, but still be in the current WV because either you don't want to be part of the state you would end up living in, or you found it hard to adapt,

C-try to organize a group of people wanting to create a new state,

I know this is really dumb, but I thought I'd get your opinion

If West Virginia quit statehood, it would just all join back with Virginia, with maybe the northern panhandle going to PA.

Newfoundland was once an independent country, and gave it up.

Who would want it is right...

It would fit in more as part of Ohio and Kentucky.

I think that most of the state would rather create a new state rather than join any other

It's nothing like Ohio, Kentucky, yes. Ohio would be more like Indiana or parts of Pennsylvania if it had to be like its neighbor. I don't see anything that Ohio and WV have in common except the fact that there are many young West Virginians that live here in Cincinnati and up in Columbus. This state is just far more urban and diverse, the economy here in extremely complex with a myriad of different fortune 500 companies, plus our topography is nothing like WV's.

Love WV, but they are more dissimilar than alike.

I think it is crystal clear you're crazy! Get some help.
