Places to eat/ places of interest in Martinsburg,Wv?
I am thinking about visiting Martinsburg,WV b/c that is where my Grandfather is buried, plus I have never been there. I would really like to visit there and maybe the surrounding areas, I hear it is quite beautiful. Any tips on where to eat, where to go etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank u!

Martinsburg has a lot of places to go to. You have the history aspects of the Belle Boyd House. You also have several decent restaurants. Heatherfields in the Holiday Inn on Viking Way is nice. I have eatten there on several occassions and it was one of my favorite restaurants to eat at there. Across the street from there, you have Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse. Not to fear though, they will not give you sushi, unless you ask for it. Everything there is prepared on a Hibachi grill and you will normally sit with other couples and such while there. If you are a fan of sushi, I can assure you that it is all fresh and of the best quality. Bear in mind, that if you eat sushi, it should never smell like fish! If it does, send it back because it is not fresh.
There are several nice restaurants in Downtown Martinsburg. The Peppermill is nice and I took my mother there the last time I saw her. There is also another restaurant there, but the name escapes me at the present. If you venture outside the city, you can find good places in Hagerstown and Winchester also, but there is the Bavarian Inn too in Sheperdstown. I do not know if it is still there, but their fare is mostly that of German food. They also have the better German ales, beers, and wines there too.
Anyway, hope this helps a little.

I hope this is not classified as advertising because I am only providing you with a direction to find more information on the Bavarian Inn in Sheperdstown, WV. There is a site for them which is here: Dining & Wine (broken link)
I would suggest that you make reservations before going there though. They get quite busy and they host a lot of formal and semi-formal events that could leave their dining room quite busy, if not, impossible to get into.
