Shepherdstown is a very cute little town with a nice park for kids. They also have some good restaurants. The only thing with Shepherdstown is NO shopping you will have to go to Charles Town/Martinsburg(Hagerstown/Frederick for better things other than your basics). I'm not sure if I've even seen a grocery store there And the prices of houses are quite a bit higher than other areas. BUT it is a very cute, well kept place to live.

Yeah I saw that down fall too! Lol here we have an abundance just a mile or so. But when we lived in VA we were a good 20 miles from stuff like that and our town had NOTHING not even
A cutesy downtown or nice restaurants! I've heard good things about Sheoherdstown besides that. :-) we would be renting for at least a year. It's a tough renter market too!

Thank you again!!

Chrisgsx19 - are your children in elementary school? If so, where do they attend and how do you like it?

Thanks

I have a 4 1/2 yr old who will be attending pre-k at the VA med. center beside my house(I've heard good things about the preschool) My other child is 7 1/2 and he attends Berkeley Heights Elem. I would say the school is ok. By the end of this yr(1st grade) he was doing fractions, basic geometry, and learning %'s. He had an about an hr. of homework a day. I guess I don't really understand what makes one school "better" than another. I've talked to many parents who's children attend different schools and they are all learning the same things(using the Home Links and Trophies books) so I'm not sure if that helps or not. I do not have any "real" complaints about the school so far but this was also our first yr there.
