Six days after violent storms hit the eastern United States, the state of West Virginia was struggling to recover on Thursday, with nearly a third of electricity customers still without power and new storms putting more people in the dark
Shameful.

The state government at work. They could care less about the average WV citizen.

what do you expect them to do? There are thousands of utility workers from across the country working to get the power back. And the more recent storms haven't helped by knocking out power that was recently restored.

Get over yourself and suck it up. Its going to take a while to restore everything, especially when you're doing it twice in some areas.

Other states have gotten more houses without power back on the grid much quicker. The fat cats in Charleston are sitting in their air conditioned offices laughing at you people.

Other states have much higher population densities and less challenging terrain.

Take the tinfoil hat off.

Not to mention, the state doesn't even control power restoration; power companies do.

Blame the utilities, not the state.

They have been pocketing profits for decades and ignoring infrastructure.

Nice attempt by a teabagger to blame the government for something it has no control over.

When you have a state where the there are only 14 "cities" over 10K people and the population of 1.9 million is spread out in low density areas across the vast majority of forested, mountainous areas, I'm not sure how you could expect an immediate reaction. Even DC and the surrounding areas are still not fully online. When a storm of this capacity occurs, utility people have to be brought in from literally 1000s of miles away to meet the demand. Storms and outages are usually more isolated so utility companies from neighboring communities or states can assist. That is not the case in this situation, where 4 states were literally devastated in an unexpected storm. The radio reported utility workers from Miss, Az and Quebec here in the NoVa area.

Trees are down over the power lines.
Some towers are crushed.
The power companies flew helicopters over the right of ways to discover which ones had the worst problems and determine which ones to repair first to get power to the most homes.

You should have been in Northern Va / DC / Bethesda Saturday.
Traffic lights were not working and some drivers can't merge without lights so stopped waiting for their engraved invitation with cars backing up behind them.

I'm not part of the tea party and identify with occupy. The utility companies are in bed with the state government who give them corporate and handouts and let's them get away with doing nothing.

Nice attempt by a quisling to apologize for corruption.
