Can you give more criteria? It is kinda broad and can meet several towns. Wv is full of nice places.

You might want to check out the Eastern Panhandle. I'm out by Charles Town / Shepherdstown / Harpers Ferry (with a wife and 10-yr-old) and love it. It's not totally rural out here, but definitely not big-city either. These are small, nice towns that would probably give you a "hometown" feel.
I *think* employment is fairly decent out here, and there are also a good number of bigger towns within 45 minutes, like Winchester VA, Frederick MD, Hagerstown MD, and Leesburg VA. 15 minutes past that and you're getting close to DC (suburbs) and all of its jobs.

If you're coming to WV to explore places to live you should definitely check out Wheeling...it's on the way to Morgantown also. There's actually a large call center that is always hiring about 10 minutes from Wheeling...also there is a large AT&T call center right in Wheeling. I only bring that up because you said that is the type of place your fiance works in now.
Wheeling is 2 hours from Columbus and you can be in downtown Pittsburgh in less than an hour depending on traffic. The Pittsburgh metro has tons of jobs...a large business park called Southpointe is about 40 minutes from Wheeling. Weirton...another small city in northern WV is even closer to Pittsburgh than Wheeling. If you're going to move WV you need to think about and research the job situation. There are no jobs at all in many parts of the state. I disagree with another poster though that stated the EP and north central WV are the only areas with jobs. Although I do feel the northern half of the state in general is better for jobs all around.

Ok, thank you wanderlust76! That's a very big help! :-) spunkydawg I'll definitely look in to it! We're going to take a trip in maybe a month or two just to go through a few places and see what we like and then we'll come back when we decide to view places to live and job interviews. We really feel that WV is where we want to move to, so we'll most likely be there within the next 6 months. cry_havoc, I don't have any more specifics. I'm asking people who are from WV what they think of where they live and if they would recommend it for us, it's not that hard to understand and see that that is what I'm doing as that's what I'm going off of. I don't want a real estate agent, if I did I would have hired one. Your really not helping because your not understanding I want to know how people feel about where they live not all of the "business/professional" details. We're a "hippy" sort of couple if you want to go there. So, we want a nice feeling home not all business. We know how to live off the land if we have to, unlike most people now-a-days.

I understand what you want, but you need to realize everyone on this forum likes where they live. Areas not represented won't get a recommendation based off a lack of posters. For your criteria you have given I could recommends half of WV.
For hippy couple I would recommend morgantown, Davis, Canaan area, Berkeley springs, lewisburg, green brier, or any small town near a resort or state park.

Morgantown is obvious being a university town. Pittsburgh is even doable as a commute although I wouldn't recommend it unless starving/welfare are the other options.
Of the others, I'd go with Berkeley Springs, it is close (enough) to Winchester, Hagerstown, Frederick, Cumberland, Leesburg, Martinsburg, and Charles Town. Martinsburg can get you a pass on the MARC train which makes some areas of the I-270 corridor doable (I wouldn't go further in than Rockville even with MARC.)
The others are in very rural areas, not much other than working for (mega-resort and/or state park), I'd imagine but I haven't been to all those places.
You might look for legit work from home opportunities like Leap Force @ Home, all you need there is a reliable high-speed Internet connection.
FWIW, I am from Leesburg VA, visit the EP frequently for vacation, have lots of family in Fairmont (go Polar Bears!) I don't know much about the state west of Fairmont.

If you want to be near the Mountains I would look at Elkins or Petersburg. You could also live In the Wardensville area and commute to Front Royal or Winchester Va.

Ok, another question. Where would you recommend for us to go in terms of horses? I like to ride and I would like to find somewhere that I could go riding at, so I would be interested also in a place that is near a rural area that has ranches.

I know morgantown and Canaan have places to ride. There was another post on this forum about Parkersburg having horses to ride too.
I'm sure all of the areas mentioned have them though.

If you're pretty serious about riding, the EP wins again, you're talking within an hour of the horse country of western Loudoun. If you're a few times a month rider, then I'm sure any of the areas would have horsey things to do. Just do a Google on "<proposed area> horse farm"
