The Huntington area borders Kentucky which is obviously known for horses. The self-proclaimed horse capitol of the world, Lexington is just under 2 hours away. There are lots of horse farms in the area and they are talking of building an equestrian center in Milton.

I would worry more about the job situation before horses. If you move to an area with no jobs you won't have any money to buy a horse, feed a horse, or go ride one at a ranch. Finding a job in WV is a lot different than finding a job in Columbus trust me.

We really feel that WV is where we want to move to, so we'll most likely be there within the next 6 months. cry_havoc, I don't have any more specifics. I'm asking people who are from WV what they think of where they live and if they would recommend it for us, it's not that hard to understand and see that that is what I'm doing as that's what I'm going off of. I don't want a real estate agent, if I did I would have hired one. Your really not helping because your not understanding I want to know how people feel about where they live not all of the "business/professional" details. We're a "hippy" sort of couple if you want to go there. So, we want a nice feeling home not all business. We know how to live off the land if we have to, unlike most people now-a-days.

It sounds like Fayetteville or Lewisburg could be for you. Fayetteville is filled with outdoorsy people from across the country and is really laid back. Lewisburg is also laid back, but a bit more upscale than Fayetteville.
Just judging from your posts, I'd shy away from the Morgantown, Huntington, or Charleston as the are a bit more urban with some (major) traffic congestion and what not.

If you really want to get off the grid, you could look at Hinton & surrounding Summers County or Marlinton and Pocahontas County.

Only Morgantown has bad traffic problems, due to inadequate funding or support from the state. Charleston and Huntington have great traffic flow.

Is your fiance going to try and get on at another call center or does he want to explore other management opportunities? Check out Monster.com for positions. My mom is in retail management and she sees postings for management on that site a lot. "Assistant" managers here don't make much money ($9 to $10 an hour if you're lucky), store managers for major retail chains can be anywhere from $25k and up depending on the size of the chain, his education, qualifications, etc. My mom has been in management for 25 years and runs a little chain store and only makes about $26k per year (which is about the same as what she made at Dollar General).
I live in Fayetteville. Not much demand for actual nannies here in Fayetteville so you may want to look at other areas for that kind of work. Beckley, Lewisburg... there are more doctors and such there as they may be in the market for those types of services. I definately agree with what mattec said in this regard. In Fayetteville, however it is common to become a contractor for the state and do in-home day care for low income moms that work.
There is a call center in Mt. Hope (Global Contact Services). I have a good friend that has been there for nearly 4 years and they have been plagued with the threat of closure, had many layoffs, pay reductions, etc. However, they are still hanging on.
Best of luck to you. Please message me if you decide on the Fayetteville area and I'll be glad to help you any way I can.

The call center industry is alive and well just about anywhere in West Virginia, but I think your answer lies in the Preston County area (Kingwood, Terra Alta, etc.). There you have great outdoor venues at affordable prices but are close enough to Morgantown to take advantage of its great employment and cultural opportunities.
