Hi I have been looking for information on Durbin,WV like the weather and how large is it,also I know this may sound silly but have heard that you can't have mail delelivered to your home
you have to have a PO box, I some how find that hard to belive. I would like any info on Durvbin or a web site I have found one but it only talks about the railroad. TY |

Durbin is where the BIG TROUT live and they do not need mailing addresses...It's just the RIGHT size.
Durbin...Glady...The Elk and Dry Fork in April/May...that's about as close to heaven as a person can get...I miss Pop Casto... |

According to city-data, Durbin's population is 262 (2000 census).
And, yes, it's quite common in smaller towns not to have home mail delivery. Everybody just has a "P.O.Box nnn" address, and makes a daily trip to the post office to pick up their mail. The post office, like the grocery store, becomes a social center for the residents. I wouldn't be surprised if the postmaster/mistress is the only postal employee in town... s/he'd have to close the P.O. to go deliver the mail. Snorpus |
