WV needs to recover lost revenue this will cause. We need to do what Colorado and Washington did.
We need to do this before our neighbors do, give us a little edge. Like the moonshiners did, it's in our genes. Take the profit and put it into public education or infrastructure.

HAHA. Hollywood casino is going down. Maryland Live is going to get 1/2 their DC clientelle. When Harrahs open in bmore and the other casino near VA a year later will the other 1/2.

That place is horrible to gamblers with their shaddy policies.

I think that most of the lost business will come from the Baltimore area. I currently live in Baltimore County and am only 25 minutes from Maryland live, 45 minutes from Perryville, and will only be 15 minutes away from the new downtown Baltimore casino when it opens though I'll be living in West Virginia by then

For areas like Frederick County and Montgomery County, Charles Town is still closer or at least a nicer drive than all the way around the DC Beltway to National Harbor. And something in PG county will also attract a lot of ghetto people too. The National Harbor casino is likely to have a lot of ghetto people and illegal aliens from PG County going there and ruining the experience for other guests.

They ARE planning a new casino at the Rocky Gap Resort in Cumberland.

I wonder if West Virginia casinos are allowed to give out free alcohol to players. There is some ridiculous nanny state law against that in Maryland and they charge $5 for a beer here.

I think the slots in Maryland have to be tighter because the state taxes the casino companies much more so they need to make a profit. The tax currently on casino revenue is like 66%. Its gone down to 50 something with the new bill but its still higher than most other states with gambling.

Better run, you can't even buy a full drink at Hollywood. mixed drinks only come with 1oz of liquor, and you're not allowed to buy a double. If you're playing the tables, you can get all the crappy natty light you want.

I know, right?? I don't know why God even created blacks and Hispanics and the like -- guess even He isn't perfect!

Thank goodness there'll be a casino out in Cumberland for us white folks.
