Might camp out instead. I have called them and they said that they may have some openings if we call early enough, so I will find out tomorrow. I called Super 8 and they are booked

Coopers Rock has a small camp ground...bare bones...will be chilly on the mountain...fog in the morning...not bad in a pinch. At the bottom of Coopers is the trail that goes back to the river...about a mile...goes to the old Iron Furnace Henry Clay I believe. This area was big in iron production from 1790 to about 1840...things shifted to Pittsburgh and Cincinatti.

NO, We ended up going to Peidmont Dam, Salt Lick Park, Tappan Lake and Shoney's for dinner and hit Wally World to get me the hat I wanted.

Piedmont dam, salt lick park, tappan lake???is that in West Va..not familiar with the names..i am still learning so much about this area...

It is actually in Ohio, off ofRt 22, Go on Rt 22 from Weirton Wva, follow that until you see sign that says Peidmont Dam, then go back on Rt 22 from the dam, make a left onto 22, follow that until you see signs that says Salt Lake Park.
For Tappan Lake follow Rt 22 from Weirton, until you see Rt 250 Tappan Lake Region. All are in Ohio |
