We're starting to look at places that the relatives can meet for Thanksgiving since my father just recently died. Northwestern West Virginia seems to be a central point where nobody really has to drive 2 days to get there. I saw Sistersville and just liked the name since it's us three sisters looking for a place Saw they had a ferry too? Thought the kids might like that.

Anyone have any views on Sistersville? Looking to buy a cheap fixer upper that we'd meet at once a year and occasionally crash at while traveling Big eating room is a must though!! (Probably turn the living room into dining room since eating is the main focus!)

Love to hear opinions or suggestions of Northwestern WV towns!

Default Sistersville

Charles and Kim Winslow came here from Albany, New York to reopen and renovate the historic Wells Inn. He may be reached at 304-652-1312; he would love to talk to anyone interested in relocating. We DO still have a working ferry, plus have added several new businesses, plus businesses relocating to better 'digs.' We have a top-quality school system, usually ranking near the top of the state annually. We are on the lower-end of the natural gas drilling boom; it is heading our way.

Sorry I came three years too late to the party. If you've already come here, welcome!

Sistersville is a nice little town and was the first town in West Virginia to have an oil boom... well over half a century ago. Although former Police Patrolman R. L. Grimm is no longer on the beat there (he died a couple years ago), it is a nice, safe place for your family to meet.
