Three for DK
Spring Baby
Nothing but clouds and rain here.
Waiting for the Sun
The trees are really budding out and the grass is getting green despite the clouds.
Just another typical spring in the Appalachian Highlands. And we will get one more snow which won't stick and one more freeze. Count on it. :)

September 10th, 2008 WOOLEY BEAR sighting...
I know its early for them...but this years model is smaller/shorter...1/3 brownish red on the posterior...last years model was black....I would say that our winter will be severe in the early months with a very early warm Spring...love those hot January's and Febs...
Let the discussion begin!

The wooly bear lied last winter. :)
I have noticed leaves are changing color early this year though. Wonder what that means? It certainly hasn't been even a little chilly yet.

I saw the first 'Wooly Bear of 2009 yesterday...she was huge and entirely black!
You know what that means?

Sure do, DK... the narrower the brown stripe in the middle, the worse the winter will be.
No brown stripe = order another cord of wood, and get the plow on the tractor early!

I seen my first yesterday for 2009 too but it was brownish, not black at all.

Been a cool(er) wet(ter) summer; I'm betting on a long, cold, snowy winter!

We are due to for a bad one. As wet as it has been I would say it will continue.
