By far our state's best ski and winter destination, Snowshoe will be opening a new luxury hotel. Also the resort plans on extending ski season starting in November and running until April! The past two winters have been profitable for the resort, plus new snow making tech allows them to open more ski slopes sooner.
Hopefully with both Snowshoe and the Greenbrier in growth mode, we can see some significant tourism growth along the 219 corridor. Not wanting to see tacky tourist traps or chain hotels and restaurants going in, but solid and locally owned businesses and destinations.
That's great news! I was wondering if there are any plans on adding new trails at Snowshoe in the future. It does seem there is room for expansion, but I don't know who owns the adjacent land, just curious.

Ski destination, I definitely agree. Winter destination... questionable. Oglebay is an absolutely awesome winter destination.
I love Showshoe. If I were younger I might take up the skis to go there. The view from up there is outstanding. It isn't surprising that they are expanding.
