I think maybe some of the fat people in carts at Wallyworld might be disabled, which could account for lack of exercise, and obesity. Even if 99% of them are just lazy, there is always the one who can't help it.

my mother had surgery on her foot a few years back and had to ride in one of those motorized carts everytime she went out. people just kep gauking at her like she was a alien especially at Wallyworld then they would make rude remarks about her and she would come home and cry. but everytime it happened i told her Karma will get them back!!

That's weird. Do they give the same nasty looks to people parking illegally in handicap spots, or healthy 20 somethings who got a blackmarket handicap sticker for their denali? Slime is as slime does.

I accept that america is diverse, and people have different ways, but rude and wrongful judgemental attitudes hurt this whole country in ways they don't even realize.

I hope america gets over that whole national enquirer mentality soon.

I've visited the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Most of it is typical rural America, no different than rural areas I've seen in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, or North Carolina. Yes, there was some visible poverty but also plenty of well kept homes. The area aroudn Charles Town is booming, liek an outer suburb of Frederick and Leesburg, which have become outer suburbs of DC....like the sprawl never ends....can't REALLY be fair to blame it though cause personally I'd love to live in a rural-suburban mix rather than a suburban-urban mix. Statistically Arkansas ranks poorer than West Virginia.

About the poverty I saw...there are abandoned farms and a few trailers, but the poveryt is not worse or as concentrated as inner-cities. There is actually a certain kind of beauty in an abandoned old farmhouse, barn, or homestead that I jsut cannot find in an abandoned factory or a boarded up, crumbling apartment block in a downtown area.

No place in America (except perhaps certain neighorhoods in the Bronx or LA or Philly/Detroit) resembles a Third World country. Statistically, again...Puerto Rico, the richest entity in Latin America, is poorer than the poorest state in the United States.

where i am living for now in indiana there is tons of abandon farmhouses and homesteads that people are buying up like crazy and just keeping them the way they are. i find abandon farmhouses add a sense of characteristic to the landscape. being out in rural indiana especially with the beautiful blue sky also adds a sense of characteristic. makes me feel "at home"



i agree with what you say about Bronx-La-or Philly/Detroit they do resemble third World countries. i have been to cities that are similiar like Indianapolis,Indiana. i drive through it and it looks like a warzone. half-naked(sometimes naked) kids and adults walking the streets. the run-down houses, the gang warfare,the drug running, the homelessness,and the thought that the city government doesnt care about it. just makes me feel very uncomfortable and a little bit guilty.
