Great news for WV!

"P&G told 500 workers at its Brockville, Ontario Canada., plant Wednesday that it will permanently close the plant by late 2020 or early 2021 and move production to West Virginia"

"It appears at least the Swiffer brand will be produced at the Tabler Station plant under construction in Martinsburg."

There is no word on whether more workers will be hired in Martinsburg due to another product line being added to the new factory.

Great news for WV!

It seems like a lot of manufacturers are willing to pull out of Canada. GM was ready to shut down an SUV plant there until an 11th hour agreement between GM and the union. I heard that labor strife and utility costs are a big problem there.

Given the current state of West Virginia, I feel sorry for those who will have to relocate from Iowa.

And the Kansas City people.

But it's nice to be on the winning side of this.

How is it America's responsibility to do that for them? They have long used currency value manipulation to keep their labor costs lower than ours, resulting in a 2 for 1 trade imbalance to the disadvantage of American workers. All those Canadian trucks you see on our Interstates are filled with goods made by Canadian workers that could be being made by American workers. It has become so bad that 50% of their jobs require an American customer, and they've been doing that on the backs of our workers. That needs to change.

I don't think the employees will be moving, unless they offered some to move if they wanted, I'm pretty sure they will be receiving job training where they live.

Anyway, P&G is closing a Kansas City plant and an Iowa plant and moving those product lines to Martinsburg, which has led to the bump of amount of jobs at the new plant in WV.

Wow ... with the addition of the jobs from Ontario, no wonder the growth is taking place there.
