Do you mean CAMC/WVU? I've never heard about CAMC/Marshal.
If it's CAMC/WVU-they have 3 own appartment complexes, 2 in Kanawha city near Memorial and one in downtown 1 block from General. They have houses for rent too. He needs to contact them and get all info.

Yeah I was about to say I've never heard of CAMC/Marshall. According to my parents there is a CAMC Teays Valley which is about 20 miles from Huntington but other than that they are all right in Charleston proper. CAMC/WVU is in the Kanawha City neighborhood of Charleston which will have plenty of nice in-town living options. I grew up near there and it is a nice area, close to downtown, the state capital, etc.

If he was accepted into med school at Marshall, then you most likely mean St. Mary's Medical Center or Cabell Huntington Hospital as these are the 2 hospitals the med program is most associated with. These hospitals are both in Huntington. If this is indeed the case, there is nice housing in Huntington, Barboursville, Milton and some areas in between. Let us know for sure so people can be more specific to help you with your search.

Yeah, I've been around here and worked in the area for a few years. Huntington is having some fiscal problems and I don't see the roads getting much better. They're struggling to keep enough officers on the road to cover the city.
Stay out of Putnam County....highest Meth-Lab busts in the state!

The housing around the area of the old Governor's Mansion in Charleston is nice...pretty peaceful. I like Barboursville because it has everything a person needs in one tight area. The traffic can be a hassle but it's right off of I-64. Makes Huntington and Charleston an easy drive...unless there's an accident. Of course, that goes for anywhere!.
Good Luck

I'm suprised that fingerkop is calling out Putnam County so much. I really like that area, and hope to be able to move to Teays Valley in the next 5-10 years if i'm still in WV.

BTW, i'm not going to have to relocate to Baltimore.

I find it somewhat difficult to believe that Putnam County which is a well heeled predominantly suburban county has the highest meth-lab bust rate in the state. I would think counties in far southern WV like Mingo, Logan, MAC Dowell or Boone would top that category.

First, thank you so much for all of your replies. You have no idea how much appreciate your feedback! Anyway, sorry for the confusion in the last post. I found out that he is
accepted to CAMC's Nurse Anesthesia program but it is affiliated with Marshall (they handle the business aspect?). So, his classes and clinicals will be in Charleston. Is the city safe? What are the chances of finding a rental home with a yard in the city? So much to do in such little time.
