It was the location of the Battle of Hoke's Run aka the Battle of Falling Waters.

Though the whole area of the eastern panhandle is a battleground or a location of Civil War troop movements.

Just a little information, I left Sheetz today and turned left onto Route 11 and I noticed a sign that they are getting ready to build a funeral home off the right.

It looks like the proposed BP GAS STATION next to Mcdonalds will be delayed yet again since the builder/ROCS let the permit expire. They will have to reapply for a new one so i guess the Shell station/Dominos will stay longer but the plan calls for those businesses to be extinct.

^^^^ Yeah I read about the library. That area is really growing. I stopped by the new Primary school and it looks to be coming together nicely. Has anyone found the plot of land the new high school is supposed to be built on?

That is what I have been hearing as well. I tried to look it up on the county's website, but it as well as the permit site have been down for the past couple of days. Once they get it fixed, I will check to see if I can locate any info. -mmccul

Thanks, any information would be great. I am hoping that they get it built before my son attends High School. My daughter attends Hedgesville and it is such a hike from us. Of course all her friends live deep into Hedgesville too, LOL.
