SPRING MILLS TACO BELL UPDATE: On October 6, 2014, the Berkeley County Planning Commission approved a waiver and sketch plat advanancement for the Spring Mills Taco Bell. It is planned to be built next to the McDonalds along Rt. 901 where the Amish shed business is currently located.
SPRING MILLS POPEYE'S RESTAURANT UPDATE: On September 2, 2014, the Berkeley County Planning Commission approved a sketch plat advancement for the Spring Mills Popey's Chicken Restaurant in the Spring Mills Town Center shopping center. The location is on Lot A which is south side of Rt. 901 (Spring Mills Road) and east of I-81 northbound off ramp.
Hmm... If both are being built around the same time, they might be owned by the same franchisee.
Hopefully the construction of this Taco Bell is far more successful than the one on Edwin Miller Blvd. in Martinsburg. It has been at least six months with little or no activity on the site. It's basically an empty building (at least it was the last time I drove by about a month ago). I wonder what exactly is going on there, and if it will ever be completed?
I am privy to some info,it turned out that the company who was building on that site was fired so they had to go find another company to take over and correct all the mistakes.I see them working there pretty regularly.
According to an article in The Journal today, Dunkin' Donuts is looking to construct at the intersection of Hammonds Mill Road and Vantage View Drive. The Dunkin' Donuts will be 2,000 square feet, with an additional 7,800 square feet for more retail space. I imagine this will be very similar to the new Dunkin Donuts in Hedgesville. -mmccul

Has anyone else heard anything about Martin's? When Giant/Martin's locates a store, it's usually an anchor of a larger development. Maybe Spring Mills is in for some other stores!

Correct, the Dunkin Donuts will have additional retail space next to it for a couple of more businesses. They did this in Hedgesville as well.
I have heard numerous rumors about Martin's locating in Spring Mills for years. I am highly supportive and I hope this actually does happen. As you said Dequindre, a highly trafficked such as Martin's usually brings a larger development along with it. I would like to see this happen as well.
I would also like for the Spring Mills area (I've posted this before) are some quality, sit-down restaurants. I would say Bob Evans, Applebee's, and perhaps a buffet like Golden Corral would be highly successful. -mmccul

Usually, Martin's/Giant anchored centers usually have restaurant out lots, so that's a good possibility.
I stayed off the Spring Mills exit at the Holiday Inn Express back in November. I agree that a sit down restaurant can and should be built.
