And the irony is that I never actually 'lived' in W Va.; just spent a few weeks each summer there from the late 1950's till 1967 or thereabouts. But; my memories of the Charleston area are very good------hell, I used to look forward to visiting there in the above time frame.

I was born/raised in the Wash DC area but I never 'felt at home' there for a number of reasons, weather being a biggie...........left there in 1978 for Calif then Az.

As for Greenbrier Street being the dividing line, I'm not so sure. I thought Greenbrier ended at Kanawha Blvd on the East End right beside the state capital. I could be wrong though...
NO kidding? That post office doesn't look like it was krogers, but now the silly parking lot scheme makes much more sense! hhahaha

Arizonabear- here is your report, a mental pic because I'm too spazzy to know how to use my own technology.
The interstate is raised in that area, and more than one ramp is up in the air to merge with it, so everything underneath is parking. To the west of the interstate is a street called pennsylvania S which "T's" to kanawha blvd. The first building there is numbered 100w and looks like a 70's style office bldg. for docs and lawyers.

Heading the other direction, along kanawha where the numbers go down, parking under the ramp, then the street running parallel to the interstate is called pennsylvania N. Once you cross that street, the building complex is called Union Square and it appears to have street #13 kanawha W. WOWK tv station, the state journal (press?), and a union office are there. The next thing down on kanawha blvd is a bridge goes over elk river.

If you really want pictures from cell phone I'd to go down the block and ask the teens how to use it, with no guarantee this lesson wont last a week! lol
