Default Prabhupada Palace of Gold

This is located in Moundsville, WV. Has anyone been here? We are planning a day trip in July, and I want to know what you all think.

not much stripping going on there, as I think Monks live there. Don't know what Nw Vrindaban Community is, but they have a web site I need to check out.

They're Hare Krishnas, or similar.

It's located back in the woods, between Moundsville and Cameron. Caused quite a stir when they built it back in the 70s or 80s; I think they're more accepted today (but I could be wrong about that).

The Hari Krishna's in Portland, Oregon are enough for me...don't see how their tribes can differ that much....

Shame on you bobilee...we want bjc to go there and give a report..shame on me for writing this..but I've never been there either...want the information too...

I checked this out on the Wickipedia, and this is a Hari Krishnas type group. The place looks very ornate with a lovely garden and 80 cows that will never see the inside of a slaughter house or feel the warm glow of charcoal!

My husband had a bad experience with a group (3 or 4) of HK’s in the late 70’s at the reflecting pool in front of our nation’s capital. Here we are a young couple with a baby, and they wanted us to give them our son!!! Told us they would raise him in a peaceful loving atmosphere and he would never eat meat. I have to say I was freighted because they reached down to take him out of the stroller he was strapped into. We tried to be nice and walk away but they followed us, my husband finally had to get a little aggressive and then they left us alone and we went home.

When we visit the Palace later this year (July) we will not take the children! LOL Actually they are grown and gone!
