In the past few months since we moved, I have been giving the cats a treat upon arising. Eventually I noticed that I was waking up earlier and earlier, by my dog's yapping. (he's in a cage for the night). Every day I stumble out of bed and they surround me, demanding treats. Lately I have discovered that the cats are causing him to yap by staring down from the edge of the bed to antagonize him so that he will wake me up, so I will hand out treats. The point here is, If there's a cat tax, I have no doubt they will figure a way to hustle the money. Without having to do any actual work, of course.
