I agree with WVUPharm2007...the country will be split in this election and it will be worse that the Bush/Gore fiasco...
I think we need new parties...these have failed us and become the same...They smell like the same money!
Anybody out there as a write in? This guy Barr? I'm giving him a good look and If Ron Paul can pull it out at the convention...I'm giving him a good look too...It's not over until November...lot of 'rag churning by the press until then...but the best real 'news is in the blogs...

People like 63 AMG, let me clue you that WV people don't get too shook up over your remarks; they know where you're coming from. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya! b'bye.

I'm also surprised at how many of labeled Obama as "elitist" when he was the most under-funded candidate at the beginning of the race. He is also the candidate with the lowest net worth in his personal finances. I think that fact alone probably makes him more in touch with the common man, than say, someone who can loan themselves 11.4 million dollars without blinking an eye.

West Virginians work well for people who work with us, not push us under the rug? How many times has Obama been here compared to Hillary? Or McCain for that matter?

Yes, I can agree with it, from having to wear hats of all sorts. On the subject of civil defense, crime and punishment, rogue elements... agreed (even if it's still very hard for me to listen to anyone referencing 911 to make their point).
On stretching that theory to an economic, social, or healthcare plan, what would you write?

try this link for the clean copy: BLACKFIVE: I Only Hang With Sheepdogs
I'm with you on the 9-11 references. I cut a few of them out as I tried to pare down the piece. I agree with the points he's making, and he makes them far better than I could! Simple fact is, I'm a lousy typist.
Being a successful leader isn't about having all the good ideas, it's knowing where to find them!

Oh and my reference to McCain being 'in the trenches' was not intended to be taken in the military sense, but entirely in the political sense. However it should be noted that IMO, yes- Mccain is cut from a far greater cloth than the Clinton's. He IS an original hellion and change maker and he IS a weathered and tested fighter.
McCain has stood up and fought for quite a bit more on issues than Hillary ever has (unless you want to count Travel Gate, Foster Gate, Rose Law firm gate, commodity gate, etc ad nasuem).
And then again I guess you might just say I'm just not a big Clinton fan, lol.

It may be that the political pundits know us better than we think they know us.
I remember Tom Brokaw calling Bush the winner in WV many moons ago. He said "The boys in the hollers in WV are voting for their guns" (Paraphrase). Was he wrong, or just half right?

The boys in the hollers were voting for their jobs...(Coal was a zero in the 80's...they remember that well...it was an issue of putting bread on the table)
And I agree with you...we will see McCain unleashed...something like the 'swiftboaters...not directly from him...
this guy will teach them the lessons that only the old dogs know...wait and see...
this election cycle is both the best and the worst.

The republican ad campaigns were almost entirely based on moral and social issues, not on economic issues. Remember, we were exiting a period of 'unbridled prosperity' (regardless of coal prices) during Clinton's reign.
It was more guns and less butter. That was the wave.

DK I liked him on merits so much better before I saw him aquiesce to bush party line. Bush wasn't and will never be, worth the dirt on his feet. I felt sad that repub party gave the chickenhawk a nod and smeared a vet for a special interest power grab. What would america look like had McCain won that primary 8 yrs ago?
McCain deserved better, but made it worse by throwing in with the wrong crowd.
When he stuck to his own ideas they were good for all. When he surrendered them to bush, he became a lesser leader, but lived to tell the tale. The POW held hostage by his own flea ridden party. What a crying shame.
I say he and colin powell go out for a beer, talk some war stories, and start their own party.
(but I'm still voting for hillary this time around)
