I just have to say that everyone on this board has been very friendly and helpful. If I do manage to get the job I've applied for, I think WV will be a great place to live.
My family and I are planning to visit the Huntington area Memorial Day weekend to see the area. Where would be a good place to stay that has good access to see the area? We have a six year-old daughter. What kind of things are there to do for a weekend? Any suggestions are appreciated. Chuck |

I recommend staying in either the Pullman Plaza hotel or the Holiday Inn. Both are in downtown Huntington on 3rd Ave and would put you in the heart of downtown. In either one you would be right next to Pullman Square and could easily walk to all of the downtown attractions. Head down 4th or 5th Ave from the Pullman Square area to see Marshall University and take a walk around the campus. If you saw "We are Marshall" you'll recognize a few things there. Head up 8th St. from the PS area and you'll run into Ritter Park at the corner of 8th St and 13th Ave. This is also the area where myself and others recommended that you look for housing. Follow the signs from the park and head up to the Huntington Museum of Art. Lots of neat permanent exhibits and some good traveling ones as well. They also have a nice conservatory there as well. Your daughter would probably enjoy the Seasame Street Live show that is going to be in town that weekend and the Civic Arena is just down 3rd Ave from either of those hotels. There's also a nice playground at Ritter Park that she would enjoy that they are about to expand. Here are some links to the things mentioned above and let me know if you need anything else.

Almost forgot, you may enjoy the walking tour of Huntington as well. Here's a link to an article with a map and audio version of the tour.
