Default Clarksburg... Any info??

Hey guys, new to the forum but looking into employment in West Virginia and found a perfect job WITH a relocation package in Clarksburg.....

My questions:

-Is it in a mountain region??
-Is there shopping??? (a good sized grocery store and a mall would be cool)
-According to city-data it seems like the sun literally doesn't shine there too often which I found weird...
-Is it rural?? or is it an old beaten down industrial ghost town kind of place???

Thanks, any info would be awesome.....

Default Plenty of shopping

Clarksburg/Bridgeprot area has a mall and a very large string of stores in a shopping center. Clarksburg is actually one of the more stable places in West Virginia as far as the economy is concerned. I live about 45 minutes from Clarksburg and it is kind of a hub where many people from rural areas go to shop. The FBI center is a big employer there, which is pretty stable employment.
As far as the weather, you will experience all seasons. However, there is not near as much snow as there is in higher elevations (east of Clarksburg).

Clarksburg is probably about the 6th or 7th largest city in WV. Like most cities in WV, it has an older downtown core, with more recent development along the I-79 corridor east of town.

The weather is probably typical for anywhere along the western slope of the northern Appalachians. Summer highs mostly in the 80s (a few days into the 90s); winter highs anywhere from the 20s to the low 40s. Usually 3 or 4 "good" snows per winter (6+ inches). While it won't get the sunshine of, say, Phoenix, it's more a case of the weather typically being "partly cloudy" instead of being overcast all the time.

I'd describe the topography as hilly but not mountainous, the real mountains are about 50 miles to the east.

Regards,
Snorpus
