You might want to double check your figures. The ENITRE population of Mon County is just under 85,000. Sabraton is counted in Morgantown's population numbers. Uffington?? There's probably less than 500 people there...it's not even an incorporated town. A more accurate estimate would be about 50-55,000 people.

Thank you, I'll double check my figures...but the Pennsi people are included and they make up a significant part of the Motown work force...not counted in your data clog as they are over the border...they total about 10,000...service, construction, truckers and hospital personel and university staff. The actual area is Marion, Preston, Harrison, Taylor, Wetzel, Fayette, Greene and parts of Washington and Allegheny counties...the Service area of Morgantown is greater than just Mon County...its a regional center...the largest south of Pittsburgh...

Last time I checked the actual counties used in Morgantown's MSA were just Mon. County and Preston county. They may have recently added a few others but that was the last time I checked.

During the fall when the kids are in town, those roads serve WAAAAY more than 55,000. Just the townies and the kids amount to that much. The WVU kids are a tad under 30,000 people that are never counted. Add in the commuters from Preston, Greene, Taylor, Marion, and Fayette counties and it's a ton of traffic (due to real estate in Morgantown increasing a great deal recently, living in the satellite counties has become VERY common). There are more people whose livelihood comes from MoTown than meets the eye....and statistics....

Hell, I just wish they'd finish that damned connector through Cheat Lake that connects Uniontown to I-68....

Still is...and it was a bit under 120,000 people at last estimate. I think 117k or so. Up 7000 or so since the last census, I believe. But what DK is referring to is reality rather than statistics. A great deal of Morgantown's working population comes from these satellite regions outside of Mon and Preston Co. Morgantown is truly the economic hub of the region.

Considering that most visitors to the TNT area back then were stoned and/or drunk (it was THE party place!) it is no surprise that people saw things that weren't there or misinterpreted what they did see.

People who have seen the Mothman don't believe it was a Sandhill Crane.

Try Bruceton Mills, WV. Its a pretty small town right next to I-68. It is also about a 30 minute drive away from kingwood where Preston High School and The Buckwheat Festival are located. Bruceton has a really good school, Bruceton School. (pre k-8th) The actual town of Bruceton is small, but drive a mile or so out of town and you'll find housing developments (Brandon Meadows, Autumn Breezes, Belgium Estates, ext) Every year Bruceton has The Good Neighbor Days parade. It is a very small parade route. After the parade, you can walk up to the fire department and ride a few rides. There is also crafts. I hope you look at this town.
