Dk no doubt corruption needs dealing with, and as the direction this country has been steered... too many good intentions have been bastardized on all sides of the aisle. My point is that the whole of washington DC is forcing even honest people to resort to slimy tactics for the merest productive day of work accomplished.
Dems- consumer protections... great intention. When it's practiced wrongfully (poorly written legislation) it means you arrest a 14 yr old milking a cow selling it to neighbors because dept of health rule book #5,392 says... Oh, and lets not forget the IRS complaining about their missing 2 cent tax from the $20 economy of a 14 yr old.
Repubs- gotta love free market, so long as if favors your cronies. Nothing so kills a free market than inbreeding. Deregulate so as to create an environment of exploitation of consumers? Hamstring govt enforcement agencies so as to institutionally sanction abuses to consumers? Hamstring the courts with limited liabilities so as to reward dubious business practices??? Deny responsibility wholesale to provide for common defense because you subcontracted out the job to a cousin, or worse, to china??? NUTS!!!
Sorry, repubs are equally guilty of stupidity, with the same cherry on top facilitation of white collar crime that dems have been guilty of since banks began. We need to clean house not with individuals or parties, but by changing the very framework of how decisions get made, and on what basis they get applied.
I believe our best hope is if libertarians come up with practical plans to address the process of congress and legislative branches in general.

How do we go around the individuals and/or parties and get the framework changed on 'how decisions are made or applied...?
We have slept at the wheel and let the malarkey brains take over...
Madame Pelosi is one of the leaders...burnt out brain/pot heads with a vanity streak...now we have Air Force #1, #2 and Pelosi's 747 in the sky too...and its because her entourage/posse is over 75 people...they fly back to Calif each weekend...
Why the Hell is this allowed? Uh...Oh....Pass me the Broulee's please...with the mint sauce and Hummus? Of course...WE need a giant Maalox for this country...It's gone over the edge...I think that sometimes, I'm going over the edge with it...Now we need a housing development at Alcatraz...I thought we gave it back to the indians...They should make it into a Casino...make it part of West Virginia...
You mentioned corruption...Subpoenas are flying an all directions...How I love the smell of a Federal Grand Jury...like napalm burning a** on a Sunday afternoon...

DK though we walk through the valley of darkness... do not let nihilism prevail. It becomes part of the tacit acceptance that's yielded permission to well groomed criminals. Thinking in terms of constructive solutions is less vexing on the spirit. I'm glad you speak out, I cherish your input, I'm glad you care, but take it one more step if for nothing else but your sanity as an adult.
My notions of solution may be lousy, but the more they're criticized in group forums, the closer to the real solution we all get. This is the power of the collective intelligence of america, what our founders had faith in, and what I believe will push us past this anemic condition having been host to parisites too long.

This week we came close to losing a Constitutional Amendment...by one vote it was protected....that tells me that Its days are numbered...By removing one amendment it will be easier to remove others that seem (in someones opinion) to be out dated or out of style...
You use a shotgun approach to solutions...that encourages debate and choice...it also triggers thought processes in others...answers and solutions come from debate and choice...they also foster accountability...a lacking quality in our world...
We (our forefathers) chose the right path years ago...if they had wanted the type of government we are progressing to they would have made proclaimed Geo. Washington King. The factor that is denied is God...when this country has been at its weakest point, her leaders (Washington at Valley Forge...Lincoln at Gettysburg...Truman at Los Alamos) have prayed, received and answer and followed that direction...in some other cases, the less gifted have had the descision made for them in spite of their spiritual weakness...
Those early leaders made manifest their steadfastness that what decisions they made were made and influenced by 'Divine Providence...their letters, their books and every uttering is filled with those feelings...that Divine Providence works in spite of the corrupt fools we are forced to elect...
It is a valley of darkness...but what our our lives worth...little...the Germans did everything but bag the Jews into fertilizer...
We can speak and that puts pressure on the crooks to be a little honest...puts a little pressure on the law to enforce the law a little...
The country and West Virginia is about to puke all of these scumbags out...its coming...and this electronic media is helping...they will have to silence it to kill us off completely...
its part of the collective intelligence you speak of...ours is contemporary.
I did not serve in the Marines for nothing...neither did my father and my brother...our family and their blood is attached to this land...people deserve peace and opportunity..
They can take it from that point and do very well...the natural regression of a democracy is to a socialist republic...perhaps we (America) have slept to long...if that is our choice...to take the pie in the sky lies and the easy street of having the government spoon feed us from cradle to grave...then those who have shed blood for these ideals were wasted...they gave their lives for a sad and feeble generation...to me, our country died in the late 1960's.
It's like a dead man who has not yet fell to the ground..
It was a suicide by dope addiction...and ignorance...
West Virginia is the last place America exists...thanks for being here...Semper Fi.

Wow, 100 miles, used 4 oz. This does raise some questions, such as would water become really expensive, being that it is already scarce in places. I ain't no rocket surgeon, but can it really be so hard to develop an alternative fuel? If I did, would I end up filthy rich, or swimming with the fishes in a pair of cee-ment tennis shoes?
After reading the link about "This is the car of the future", I have to apologize for being so cynical. It looks like oil companies are getting behind hydrogen and maybe it is to become a reality. Once they figure out how to gouge us with it, it will magically take over the world in a flash.

That hydrogen technology was developed in the mid to late 1970's by a kid out west...used it on his Toyota and sold the rights to Bill Lear..Now we hear that its news...It's been suppressed for over 30 years...very simple in design and cheap to fit...was done in the kids home garage...and I can't find it anywhere on the internet...but years ago, I had the newpaper article...simple tap water was broken down into Hydrogen and Carbon Dioxide...the Hydrogen was burned in the regular engine cylinders...CO2 went out the exhaust...
