Default Clendening!!!!!!!!

Hey, I am strongly considering moving to the Clendening area, and looking for a small farm. Anyone from Cloendening or thereabouts? I'd love general information on farms for sale, other property, apt rentals (for the first year), employment prospects, and what folks do for fun.

Great, we need people to move to the area. First you have to get the name right. Its Clendenin. Named after some Indian chief. And what most people do is travel to Charleston to do anything. No work in the area unless you want to work at Gomart. Prices are very cheap though.

I was born in Charleston, moved around the Eastern US, but was primarily raised in Clendenin (named after John Glendening of MD....not an Indian chief). I still visit my family and friends there every month. I live in Morgantown, WV now (I'm a Ph.D. student in Political Science).

If you want a quiet, suburban/country residence with neighborhood get-togethers, then you will want to move to Clendenin. The area isn't growing, but about 7 miles toward Charleston, in Elkview, there is strong development. Housing is very cheap and services are relatively cheap. No crime whatsoever except for some burglary and arson (every year I go back, a new house is burnt down along a line on the cliff downtown...I'm starting to think it's a curse, haha). The people are very friendly, but a little intolerant and edgy with new entries to the community. My grandma's landlord is the mayor, my best friend's father is a councilman, and my grandmother's second cousin (Jim Clendenin) was mayor for about 20 years through the 80s and early 90, so let me know if you need any other info.

Default No Indian chief. But....

Guess my Grandfather was just spinning a big one when he told me that.
However, Clendenin was NOT named after some guy from MD. either. After some checking on the internet the town was founded in1904 and was named after an early pioneer family named guess what... Clendenin,
Being a highly educated person as you are, I would have thought you would have checked this out.
