Wanna play?

I used to live in Bullhead City, Az where the mayor was Diane Vick, the police chief was Rodney Head and the local Gay bar (The Lariot Saloon) is on Hancock......and, we will not even mention Kuntz St in Mohave Valley.

My husband is from Dorthy, WV and was born on a coal camp. His dad was a coal miner. But he ended up teaching at a university with a Doctorate. My best friend is from Charleston and is a teacher and my other friend who I met in CA , from Charleston also, is an accountant. I live on the OH/IN border. When we drive through WV on the way to golf in NC I always think it is so beautiful. I think the people there are kind and friendly. I think there are a lot of poor people and they need more jobs in the state. They are doing a good job of offering a lot of recreation areas which should bring some money into the state.

I love to go to other places to meet and talk with people. We are all created equal but unfortunately it's not perceived that way. Last week on the "So you Think You Can Dance" show it just so happened they were having tryouts in Milwaukee (can you imagine?) AND in winter. That's what they showed and talked about - snow, cold, sleet!! When they began they had a few pictures of cows and made a "mooing" sound. I really think that's ridiculous. Once when I was visiting in California a woman we were introduced to was told we were from Wisconsin. She laughed herself silly and then asked if we were kidding. I asked her when she visited there and she said "Oh - never".
I used to live in a town called Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, for several years. It's right on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin near Kenosha. You also have a beautiful state and wonderful, friendly people. Except for the accent they remind me very much of West Virginians. I used to Deer hunt for a week every year up at Fort McCoy about 80 miles North of Madison. My two buddies and I took our sons with us and they looked forward to that trip all year long!! Southern Illinois is also a really great area. The folks accents there, the food, and the lay of the land are so similar to ours you'd swear you were in West Virginia. BTW.....I LOVE beer and brats!!! When I was stationed at Great Lakes back in the sixties there were bill boards all along RT41 heading into Wisconsin that advertised Oleo Margerine. I couldn't understand the fascination with margerine until I learned that, at the time, it was illegal to sell margerine in the Dairy State!!! Had to bootleg it in from Illinois!!

wisconsin:
Margarine is the devils work, certainly! Who needs plastic running through their arteries? Best we stick to plain old fashioned lard- it's organic.

WRONG! I moved from Boston (Plymouth), Mass last September, & I have come to realize, this place sucks. I live around the Lewisburg area & there is barely anything. I mean, I have to travel an hour to get to a Wal Mart, there's no 24/7 gas stations, have I yet to mention mountains? These mountains are starting to kill my trucks motor, I always have brake dust on my wheels, & the roads are complete crap. So what is taxes are low, that's what makes everything here junk. This place has nothing to offer me what so ever. & no emission testing on cars. Call me crazy, but yeah, I care about breathing. & whenever I'm behind someone I can't even breath because there cars smell so bad. & I'm stuck behind them all the way because noone here knows how to drive. & if there aren't lines painted on the road, they don't know what to do. & the town I live in charges sky-high prices for everything because they're the only store around the carries it without driving 40 miles. & major lack of job opportunities.
I can go on for hours..

That's my two-cents.

You have a WAL-MART?

If it weren't for that, I'd have thought you were in Ireland with me. 'Cept we don't usually get stuck behind stinky cars---we get stuck behind stinky sheep, or stinky tractors going 10 mph...

Hey, WV just looks better and better...can't wait!!

Probably 1/2 the people in WV , like any other state, are not FROM WV.
It is quiet in the country and noisy in the city like every where else.
I think the Hatfield and McCoys might be a true story, but we'uns went to school since then. Arkansas has the same rep along with a few other states.
It's them dang North'ners who are so uppity LOL
I was born and bred in the mountains and valleys of wild wonderful, Beautiful WV. Moved to the city and cities and always ended up back in WV.
