Is it Cresent or Crescent?

There is a school in Beckley named Crescent (Raleigh county) but don't know of a community.

New River/Greenbrier Valley lists all (?) the communities in WV. Don't see a Cresent or Crescent. (Oops - this lists that region but you can get to other regions from that site).

Just looked on Google Earth and saw it.
It's across the river from Smithers (hmm, which in reference to another thread - Smithers is bigger than I thought). It is also close to Montgomery WV (Home of WVU Tech WVU Tech - used to be WV Tech then WVU, which is in Morgantown WV, took over the college in Montgomery).

Crescent must be in Fayette county although it may be Kanawha (the border is around there somewhere).

The area is very rural. It sits between Charleston (the state capitol) and Beckley WV. - not sure of the distance but it takes 45 min/1 hour to get from Charleston to Beckley and Montgomery is somewhere between the 2. It is also very hilly.
Beckley is in Raleigh county http://www.visitwv.com/our-area/raleigh-county

I-64/I-77 is a major interstate in WV (the two interstates are the same from Charleston to Beckley). The highway you see on the Smithers side of the river is the interstate.

Not too far away is Fayetteville - people come from all over the world for white water rafting. Beckley has a small ski resort called Winterplace (more challenging skiing is at Snowshoe and Canaan Valley).

Hope this is enough info to get you started.
