Did you see the Davidson (?) Brothers perform? I thought they were very good and liked their music (that style is often iffy for me). That lead singer is a very good showman.

You know I may have but I was walking around not paying too much attention because I have a 2 and 3 yr old. I probably did hear them but wasn't paying attention, lol.
I visited Canaan yesterday, colors are still near peak and I'm really surprised it's not peaked yet.

Wow, me too. As drastically as they changed the week before thought for sure they would be this weekend.

I'm definitely going to visit Canaan again, most likely Saturday because it'll be partly cloudy and I think today and tomorrow is rain. It's got to be peeked by then.
About 2 years ago (before I moved to this state) I remember taking my 2nd vacation to Canaan and we arrived the first weekend in October and it was clearly past peak.
If anyone knows what factor can speed up or slow down peak season let me know, I'm really curious.

You'll probably be headed up to Spruce on Shaver's Fork, by way of Bemis.
Great ride, wonderful scenery.

Went up to Canaan today, took rt 72 and it's still not peak, it's near peak and in some areas, its just starting to change.
It's really bizarre, IMO.
BELOW: However, Job area and Middle Mtn are peaked and its gorgeous.

Great pix. Yes, I'm really surprised. I'm at Old Timberline looking across the lake at the mountains at the edge of Dolly Sods - while the trees in Canaan are gorgeous, they are not yet at peak. Next weekend? Of course with my luck if I was waiting to hit the right weekend, there would be a major freeze this week and they'd all fall off by next weekend.

Vec101: That could happen...hard rain and wind...lets try to hold winter back to 3 weeks in March or April.
