Question Searching or Wright/McClaugherty Clan Info

Hello,
I am searching for an answer to a mystery involving one Agnes Wright, Daughter of Roy T and Harriett (McClaugherty) Wright, from Matoaka, WV. Agnes was my grandmother, born abt 1908. She married Vernon E Stafford, sometime in the 1930's. They lived in Charleston and around 1935 adopted a child (my mother). They divorced in Sept. 1941 and my grandmother was awarded custody of my mother. She later married Jerome McDevitt and settled in Princeton, WV.

The mystery: Who were my mother's birth parents?

Clan lines are stated to be all or mostly all from Matoaka, WV or Tazewell, VA.

Bailey
Hale
Ellis
Wright
McClaugherty
Baldwin
Stafford

Are there any Matoaka people who remember any of these families? Are there any Mercer County people who have any recollection of these families?

Thank you

Good luck with this and hope someone remembers them. Question: If they were living in Charleston when they adopted your mom, are you not looking in the Charleston area for the birth mother?
