What do you think of Jay Rockefeller?
I can't stand him. It's like he is completley out of touch with this state.

I actually have to stop and think of who the other Senator (other than RCB) from West Virginia is. I can't think of another Senator so invisible, in both Washington and his "home" state.

Yeah, he isn't getting my vote again. Should have known some guy whose grandfather was one of the richest people EVER would be out of touch with the people of WV. I'm over him. RCB!!! Hell yeah, I'll vote for him as long as he's running, and alive.

I don't know, RCB might wield more power after he's dead than some Senators do when they're alive.

Changed parties to be West Virginia Politically Friendly...deal was cut when Jennings Randolph was retiring and helped Jay-bird get the seat...was kind of a 'place for him.
RCB hated Nelson Rockefeller and has never given Jay-bird the green light...almost always they vote against each other on important legislation...
Jennings told me in July 1978 that Jay would take his seat...I lost a lot of respect for him that day.
Election cost 3 million dollars and a lot of hotdogs and cokes...used the same machine to get the election that JFK did.
For all his power and influence, we've got a crum or two...if RCB had that power and family prestige...(IRS control...Federal Reserve Control) we would be as powerful as New York, California or Texas....What are we? read the media? a little less than human by some standards...and
He has protected the Coal, the Gas, the Timber and the real Estate holdings of the family here...that is about all...for all the opportunity to help others lower on the scale to create wealth...he has not done that, but the opposite...has made WV the stinking welfare mess that it has become...
The route to success in this great coun try is measured by the same path that early immigrants chose...Adaptation and the learning fo the language, Assimilation into the culture...Education: both formal and not...Enterprise: building a career or better yet a business and gaining freedom from the system...
this still works...not a handout system that robs the self-respect and motivation from self-worth...that's what Jay-birds programs have done...he has felt that we cannot do and cannot have...simple as that...It's a respect thing...where I'm from we call that disrespect.
When Jay-bird was elected, I was standing in front of our courthouse...I went inside and asked for a voters registration form, filled it out as a Repub...told the clerk, "if that carpetbaggers is a Democrat...that means I'm a Republican...was registered so for 16 years...changed over to help a friend on his campaign...politics is a crap-shoot with the emphasis heavily on the crap...

All you need to do is look to Jay and say, Why does WV have an economy like this? Oh, yes. Jay.
I loved Jay as a kid and who wouldn't? Heck, I remember going to my school, heated by coal of course, and oh Jay. When Jay needed money he would always pressure the UMW to strike, he always supported it. Why? Well, when you have a large controlling interest in the coal business and it is a commidity, what better way to line your pockets with a strike and an auto rise in the commidity. Always in the winter months! We had NO COAL days instead of snow days. All thanks to Jay.
BTW, ole Jay was the Rockefeller Blacksheep as Teddy is to the Kennedy clan. Jaybird is about as Democrat as Democrat can get. All one needs to do is look at his tax and spend mentality, his big government theology, and being super rich protecting his own pocket while he steals from yours. Then again, the Rockefeller Republicans were not much different. Well, there goes that analogy Democrat / Republican today, there isn't one speck of difference.
In closing, WV please! Send this guy packing.

He bought us with hotdogs and cokes...really gave us the 'weenie...both ways...
Remember this...RCB becomes ill...Mr. MoJo steps in to be Senator...all in the interest of Wv and proper energy management...who becomes Gov? Gail, of course. History made in the mountain state...very cheaply done too...
