Hi all,

I registered to vote the end of July at the DMV and have yet to recieve my WV Voter Registration Card. My Husband got his, and he registered with the Republican Party. I registered as an Independent.

Does anybody know who to contact about verifying if I'm registered to vote in WV?

Thanks.

7th I'm new to charleston and got mine last spring directly from the office connected to the court complex of buildings. I was on foot and took directions from a guard-- 2 doors to the right won't help you out?

I think it's a pretty safe bet you aren't registered if so much time has passed and no card. You won't get help from DMV unless you stand on line and then they'll tell you it's not their jurisdiction. Not sure what county you're in but if you look up the county listings in the blue pages section voters registration is listed for jackson county. 373-2249 if you'd like to check if they've got your county's #. If phone book or jackson cty don't have the #, try your library.

I 've never had registration card; polling stations have a list of registered voters. you don't need a card.

My husband and I both THOUGHT we had registered at the DMV in July when we got our driver's licenses. In fact, the DMV never submitted our registrations, but we didn't learn about it until it was too late to register! Needless to say, we are BOTH terribly upset about this. When I called the Wood County Board of Elections, the lady told me that they get this complaint OFTEN, as a matter of fact, they hear it every time there is an election of any kind.

It seems to me that if this system is broken, why is it allowed to continue? Something fishy is going on here!

WV is a one party state. There is a good chance they would have been more efficient with the card if you had registered with the other party. It will probably arrive the week after the election.

WV is not one party state. It is 3/4 Democrat, 1/4 republican and a little bit Mounain Party which is not serious one.

Can't help but notice that WV gave Gov. Romney (UGH),sorry, their electoral college votes...hard to believe when he is known to not care about the 47% of middle class people!
At the same time , they re-elected Sen. Joe Manchin and Gov. Tomblin..fine, up-standing Democrats. What gives??
Fortunately, President Obama, won and all is well...no thanks to the voters of WV.
