Berkeley Springs - girlfriends trip?
Any ideas for a girlfriends trip later this month in Berkeley Springs? We'd prefer in-town lodging, close to shops & restaurants. Any ideas for restaurants, shops, etc. that are open this time of year are welcome.
Also, is this one of those places that rolls up the sidewalks at 7p? Any ideas for evening entertainment?
Thanks!

Is the Coolfont Resort and Restaurant still open? I know a new group purchased it.
Used to be a nice place at one time, have not been there in years.

No, it is closed. They are in the process of redoing it and will reopen it in the future.

As to rolling up the sidewalks - I don't know but had read a post by someone that a lot of the shops. etc. were closed very early.

my experience with cacapon park is that the cabins were all reserved for all weekends some time ago. you could probably rent one from monday thru thursday, but not over a weekend.
the hotel right in the middle of berkeley springs - i think that is the "country inn at berkeley springs" - is pretty nice. it's in the center of town; all of the shops and restaurants are within walking distance.
although i haven't made the trip yet, i think that a tour of the castle would be pretty nice. as far as restaurants, i've always enjoyed dinner at "maria's garden".
berkeley springs is a beautiful town, in a beautiful part of the state. especially in the autumn. hope that you enjoy it.

Hi! I am reviving this post - I am planning a 2 night trip to Berkeley Springs for my fiancee and have seen mixed reviews about the resort (the one with Five Senses Spa). I trust you guys more. Thoughts?
I also have heard about a small couples only inn, but can't find anything on it now. Ring a bell?
