Weekend Getaway Suggestion
I'm looking to get outta Dodge for the weekend and head to WV. Any suggestions of a place to stay (w/a jacuzzi in the room) in anywhere in between Beckley to Elkins area???
Thanks!

The Lodge at Pipestem Resort State Park. It's just north of Princeton.
Not sure about the jacuzzi, though.

Go to Elkins... ride the Tygart Flyer train, see a show, shop in downtown shops, stop in the visitors center and get brochures and head off in any direction for various attractions.
West Virginia Scenic Trains - Vacations and Heritage | Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad - great idea, takes you into the forest
Welcome to the Heart of West Virginia - has some ideas for attractions in the area
American Mountain Theatre West Virginia - Branson style enterainment in a new theater
Elkins, West Virginia
Some lodging options include a Holiday Inn Express right in the redeveloped rail yard, Days Inn, Hampton Inn, Graceland Inn (Very Nice, little pricey though, but worth it) and there are many others too in the area.
Any questions just ask

GHO...I think the trains are out of service for the winter...might be wrong, though.
New little town center at the Rail Road Station is a gem...worthy of Jennings Randolphville in everyway...

They are actually still in service until mid December (Tygart Flyer at least) They go out of service around mid December and wait around until Valentines Day and then they bring the service back. They do winter themed excursions, etc
Here is a sampling of the different trains schedules.
