Surfsup,
You are from Mannington in Marion County? Better tell your friends in Marion that they are bigots however they may disagree with you because Obama won in Marion County.
In WV, McCain won with 56% of the vote, Obama had 43%. I would not call that a huge landslide.

In Virginia, Obama received 52.33% of the vote, McCain 46.63%.
In Prince William, Obama won by 57.51%, McCain received 41.62 %.
This was 93,386 for Obama, and 67,589 for McCain.

So since you are branding WV people as prejudice, ignorant, lazy, and backwards because the majority of votes did not go to Obama, it is only logical that you consider anyone who did not vote for Obama as the same.

Perhaps you need to address those 67,589 people in Prince William and inform them of their negative qualities.

You are a teacher? Did you share your sentiments with your students, especially to the children of those 67,589 voters?

As a teacher, you know the value of research. Perhaps you should do more research into the statements and issues of Obama and you would better understand why Obama lost in the state of WV.

Obama advisers discuss preparations for war on Iran

I didn't wash my hands of the Democratic Party to vote Independent, or to be a Republican, I did so because the Democratic Party is corrupt.

Democrats would not sponsor (endorse) bills to impeach Bush and Cheney though the charges against them were criminal and imprisonable offenses. Democrats not only allow the invasion of our borders by illegal aliens, but they encourage it, fund it, and have total disregard to the organized crime that comes with that package and those intent to overthrow our government, which is blatantly, sedition, and an open declaration of war on our soveriegnty. Democrats support the unsurping of our Constitution via laws such as The Patriot Act and Home Grown Domestic Terrorism Act which requires a heavy handed enforcement against civilians in advance of any incident as yet another part of the move to fascism by this government. Democrats were endorsing the bailout before even reading it as the Fed declared it would be immune to oversight and above any court. Democrats, instead of screaming, allowed Bush to make legal retroactively his criminal activity. It's the Democrats in Congress who are now beating the war drums for Iran.

They hear, but do not listen. They look, but do not see. Will Obama will end the war in Iraq? He'll put everyone in Afghanistan (or Iran), mission accomplished! I have hard time understanding people that believed this lie, because the machine that put the cash cow in Iraq, won't give it up easily. It was the greatest fraud in history up until the bailout. Democrats supported the War in Iraq . . because they are corrupt and have their hand in the cookie jar.

Democrats (at least in this state) in the electoral college were supporting Obama even before the primary vote was in because they prostituted their vote to the highest bidder, organized crime, gushing gobbledygook to explain it . . a regurgitation reminiscent of EST.
Erhard Seminars TrainingThe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In California, a superdelegate advertised via the media that his vote was for sale, $20 million, so he could transport Mexican-Americans to vote. Funny how that double-standard works, eh? A kid then put his vote on e-bay for sale, asking price $10, and was arrested.

Democrat or Republican, other, those who aren't brainwashed, had in this election fiasco, a common question : Who do I vote for? Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you. Even that harpy Ann Coulter doesn't like John McCain, and is going to hunt down every state that put him in the running. She's angry at her own party for not hunting down Obama, for taking a hands-off approach. I really hate agreeing with Ann Coulter, but the Republicans Party allowed Obama to be elected . . they helped him, and Republicans have every right to be as angry at their own party, just like I was with the Democrats.

Heads of countries and ignorant masses in the Middleast sound just like the communists for Obama here, and everywhere, gushing like Chris Mathews in orgasm for their black penis, Jesus Muhammad Lami Bama . . I am the Walrus, ook ook a choob! However, the intellectuals in the middleast echo Ralph Nadar, that we have a one party system, a duopoly, and nothing changes. I think they're wrong about that, as it just got a lot worse. The last 4 occupants of the White House put us on the brink of tyranny beginning with Reagan and Rex 84, that creep Obama will turn this country fascist, if not a dictatorship.

All Hail Obama! Let's dumb ourselves down.

Wait, wait, wait, wait..... I thought we are replacing a nationalist fascist regime (you know, the kind that red-blooded, beer suckin', gun lovin', war mongerin' , NASCAR watchin', 'real' Americans supported) with a utopian socialist regime (you know- the kind that wallet grabbin', wealth distributing, edumacated 'elitist' American's supported??

Gosh darn it now I'm all confused. I need to go and listen to Hannity. Or Franken. Or someone like that to get this all straightened out.

/sarcasm/

I laugh at you all. ha ha Have you started building your shelter yet? ha ha ha (South Park reference) You all are having the same reaction that I had after Bush got elected in 2004. Which just blew my mind considering after 4 years he had began his long and slow process of bankrupting our country while instilling tons of uber-conservative judges, etc.

So I know what you are going through. Trust me, you will be just fine. I have faith in President Obama and as American's you should to. I tried with Bush, but... well he just kept it up and kept it up and I had to sit there and shake my head.

Prediction:

President Obama has been with us before...in the personage of Richard Milhouse Nixon...another Presidency of paranoia...watch and see...all the behavior triggers were evident in the campaign...side effect of drug use...sorry, just an observation.

While I did not mind the election of Obama, as a Hillary supporter I was frustrated and angry at the DNC for setting up such a stupid way of selecting a candidate. I do not think Obama is equipped to be President, but then neither was G.W. Bush. Obama was elected only because the economy went into melt-down just before the election. If it had not we would probably be looking at a President-elect McCain. The Democrats chose the weakest candidate, but they lucked out by our misfortune. I feel sorry for those people who think Obama is going to bring about change. They seem to think the sun will shine brighter, the sky will be bluer. But Washington, B.C., is not going to change.

I'm wondering if the current approval ratings for our Congress will be a high for them...when a person is trying to do the impossible with nothing...they ususally end up with nothing...

It's time for some of the quotes from a different time...Mark Twain and Will Rogers will do fine..will show that nothing about Congress will ever change...

Guess I'm just an out dated, red-blooded American, who foolishly thought you got out of life what you earned.

I'm only infuenced by the Constitution. I held up my hand and swore an oath to it, I swore my life to its defense. At the exclusion of all else?? You bet; there is no higher law.
This thread serves well to display everything that's gone horribly wrong with the republican party. Being educated is not criminal anymore than earning a living is, and to presume elitism is as ignorant as presuming farmers are dumb. Citified solutions do not apply to rural solutions, they're two different animals, and to carry on trying to philosophically force rural ways onto cities is AS ridiculous when it's reversed. Sure, I have a problem with much of the rules of civilization. I took personal responsibility and moved. I didn't demand 9 + million people change their mind to suit me, nor did I move here demanding charleston change it's ways to suit me. Half of my neighborhood voted one way, the other half voted the other way, and we're still the same neighbors to one another prior to elections.

Obama taught the constitution for 8 yrs as a professor in chicago law school. I think that dedication will be consistent, and how that translates to his encroachment upon your rights... I don't hear near enough noise from people so offended when bush, your commander in chief, said it was 'just a piece of paper'. One he didn't bother to read when he took his oath. Obama said himself that because of his privilege & monetary success, he did not consider himself eligible for affirmative action, but electing a president who happens to be black suddenly means white guys will be robbed of their rights? Others are alluding prior to election they expect their stores to be looted? You've not been impartial, your speech stands on it's own merits as contrary, as is much of what's been said by others.

When 95% get a tax break from a democrat, I find it bizarre that republicans would call it 'theft' from 5%. Warren Buffet proved he, as a multi millionaire, was paying less tax than his employees. This also applies to Obama, who made something in the order of 4 million a year. Buffet supported Obama's plan, which directly affected him (not you). Apparently the majority agreed. So WV, not to salt the wounds- you've won a battle but lost the war. McCain lost because RNC pushed him into the same hateful agenda pitting americans against americans going on far too long. If only he had stayed his own man, the same man I voted for in 2000 AGAINST bush.

Do you consider this theft? Day after elections my contractor arrived with a loud announcement that a n*gger is the president. He proceeded to spend 7 hrs rewiring 3 pre existing outlets in my house out of spite. Spent lots of time at my fence on the cell phone on personal business. The agreement was 8 hrs of premium pay, because his skills were up to par and his work ethic was strong. I don't think he realizes yet that there's a 95% chance he's lost this job. Not because we disagree on politics, but because he allowed it to interfere with business and wants to use my home as a p*ssing contest. I'll let him cool off a bit before confronting him about his performance, but if y'all are any indication, it's a done deal. I placed his tools near the front door for him to pick up. Shall I presume his unprofessional behavior represents the republican party, or WV??? Would that be fair?

Big al & vec, I was very disappointed to see the sample ballot for charleston having little or no representation from republicans. Someday, when republicans get their party back, I think it's important to have your party show up on the ballot instead of having politicians running completely unopposed. Same for the Mtn party, and the absence of all other 3rd party candidates printed on the form. Treasurer- no republican ran. Auditor- no republican ran. Circuit judge- no republican ran. No sheriff, no family court judge in 4 divisions, no assessor. If your party means to stand on the sideline heckling & rooting for failure, I can't take that very seriously. Shelley Moore had to explain to me how they mean to balance the national security job without encroaching upon the constitution wrongfully- she means to continue that work, and she earned my vote on that basis.

All:
Both Obama and McCain computers were hacked into by china, and while y'all perpetuate hateful crap against your brothers it leaves the country wide open for people like Enron and nations who wish us ill. This war on america republicans started predates obama. Comes down to what I said prior to elections- all too many in republican camp would rather see democracy fail than live up to it. Listen to yourselves and embrace the personal responsibility you claim to be about. When you're done with personal accounting, you could try listening to the other half of the country's concerns without the presumption they're inherently stupid. You've been more offensive than you realize. This is ONE nation whether you like your kin or not.
