Oh my.... My sincerest condolences. I'm very, very sorry you must move to the cesspool that is Fairmont. Just got out of that town after 5 years.... might be cheap, but at the cost of your soul.

Ok LT, Make up your mind. Didn't you also write (yesterday I think)

I would actually suggest moving to Fairmont, WV. It is a city that is a little run down, but very good for starting out. It has a lot of civic organizations, and has some good starter Jobs. It's also not far from the Metro of Morgantown and the huge economic growth.
I will tell you as a former resident of Fairmont that it will drive you out sooner or later. The town is good to get your feet, but don't stay there for too long. I lived there for 5 years, now moved to Morgantown and am going to WVU. Much happier here, but it's more expensive here. Jobs are pretty easy to find in both towns. On the whole, morgantown jobs pay more, even customer service jobs.

I said it was good to get on your feet... but don't stay there to long... I just may have left out, "Because it sucks out your imortal soul". Although I will say that I find it scary that you read enough of the posts to cross reference them... what, do you work for Wiki?

Fairmont isn't the horrible place that the previous poster made it out to be. It's quiet. There isn't much activity but I'm the type of person who doesn't mind driving to larger cities for entertainment. If you're a young, 20something, Fairmont will probably bore you to death. If you are a family, looking for a nice, quiet, safe place to settle in at or raise kids, it's great. I'm from a large US city and have lived and raised my kids in Fairmont for 20 years. Haven't regreted a day spent here.

Just catching up: where could I go in town to check a bulletin board, where a local yokel might post a house for rent?
