Oh my.... My sincerest condolences. I'm very, very sorry you must move to the cesspool that is Fairmont. Just got out of that town after 5 years.... might be cheap, but at the cost of your soul.

I lived there for 5 years, now moved to Morgantown and am going to WVU. Much happier here, but it's more expensive here. Jobs are pretty easy to find in both towns. On the whole, morgantown jobs pay more, even customer service jobs.

Fairmont isn't the horrible place that the previous poster made it out to be. It's quiet. There isn't much activity but I'm the type of person who doesn't mind driving to larger cities for entertainment. If you're a young, 20something, Fairmont will probably bore you to death. If you are a family, looking for a nice, quiet, safe place to settle in at or raise kids, it's great. I'm from a large US city and have lived and raised my kids in Fairmont for 20 years. Haven't regreted a day spent here.
