Default Why did WV not vote for Obama

Obama has named Stephen Chu as Secretary of Energy. Chu has stated that coal is his worst enemy.

Obama has named Carol Browner as Energy Czar (more on her was discussed another post).

We discussed a lot of the reasons for votes, etc. in the thread titled "Why is W. VA all Republican state?" (Which we are actually 56% Democrat). http://www.city-data.com/forum/west-...can-state.html

I think Obama's appointments pretty much show that he has little to no regard for our state - why would we have supported him?

I say WV, Wyoming, etc. just ship all our coal to China -- then perhaps the environmentalists and powers that be would appreciate the hard work of our miners and the over 50% of the energy supply that coal contributes.

I haven't noticed anyone working hard to get Americans to decrease their use of electric - it's so much easier to blame the coal.

I'm all for cleaner methods of energy consumption - but let's work with our most abundant resource rather than declaring war on it.

The policies of the left (Dems) and the fiscal right are what is ruining the middle class. On the one hand, their ideology is based on myth and ideals with little relation to fact and on the other it is based on greed. One group wants to deprive us of our ability to support ourselves and the other wants to give our opportunities away to foreigners as the cheapest bidders. Our great nation will get back on the track leading to prosperity when we elect a populist government.

Keep your eyes on Sarah. She is down to earth, grounded in reality, and has the interests of the common person at heart, all the while putting country first. She is the antithesis of the elitists we have been habitually putting in control of our destiny.

I saw the governor of South Carolina (forget his name) on CNBC a week or two ago. He's another one to keep an eye on for 2012.

WV people are smart and realistic. That's why we didn't vote for Obama.

ABCDom is on a distinguished road
Maybe this isn’t the thread, but as an aside: Keep in mind, I am not at all Obama fan, but his recent announcement of Reverend Warren for the inauguration surprised me. Apparently, this selection has quite a few homosexual groups very angry!

Georgia, if you disagree, let it continue, but as far as I'm concerned...

"The Election is over".

This is just going to be a typical "them vs us" political thread with the topic of "WV"tossed in to keep it in the room. Not.
