Although I hate opening up threads that have been cold for a long time, the OP was scared about and the culture shock associated with moving from a big city to a small town WV. And although Beckley is hailed as being a city on this thread, anyone used to major metropolitan living would not view it as such.

Also enjoyed yet another overblown post directed towards immigrant populations. Just because there is one small group of "militant jihadists" in Northern VA doesn't imply that anyone under the sun who is from a middle eastern nation (and there are tens of thousands up here) engages in that type of behavior. Nor does it speak for the relative safety of an entire geographic area. If you want to expand that line of thinking, an American terrorist neo-nazi group called the National Alliance is based in WV, near Marlington to be exact. I guess that means WV is an unsafe and scary place to live.

I was pulling crime in Virginia because it's dense for somebody in Virginia to be scared of living here. It just so happens some of that crime was illegals. Why? Because, they have a huge illegal alien population in Virginia. The gang activity link in Richmond I posted had nothing to do with illegals, neither did the table of state by state crime.

You pro-illegals types are all alike, you try to sound nice, but you're a hateful bunch, and hypocrites.

I wasn't referring you to the nazis, I was merely giving an example of a group that could be considered terror-like by American standards. Given that fact, I was implying that organized elements of crime exist everywhere and therefore they cannot really be used to judge the safety of an area.

I'm glad you've taken it upon yourself to tell people when they are being "out of line." Your borderline paranoia of immigrants and all the commentary that comes with that has been "out of line" for quite some time.

I don't think I've ever really said I was pro-illegal, I just think people should be given a chance at a better life. If that means coming to America, a country founded on immigration, than so be it.

Generally speaking, a large part of the un-educated part of America considers Wv and it's people to be borderline paranoia and a sub group of mis-fits...goes back to the indian killing days of Lew Wetzel and the Morgans...now that war has been abolished, we are not needed...
