Default What about Parkersburg?

Maybe I missed them, but I went through 23 pages and did not see anything on Parkersburg except jobs and apartments. I have been there briefly, but I was wondering what people thought about it. How does it stack up against other West Virginia cities? Is it cheap to live in, are people proud of their city? Also something else I may of missed, but are there any minorities in Parkersburg, I have never seen a town of that size that was completly white.

I grew up there. It's isolated from major cities, but everything you really need is available in town. There are still many small businesses....unlike Morgantown which is becoming a mecca for chain stores. It's pretty boring from a cultural perspective. Property is cheap. And, my golly yes, people are very proud of the town. About minorities...sure, it's mostly white, but there are folks from every background in town. In fact, there is a rather large multicultural festival every summer in City Park.

If you are middle-aged or higher, it's a great place to live. The younger set would get bored quickly.
