I was doing some more research and the articles said the upper portions of the North Branch suffer from pollution. There has been a clean up but there are still some problems. Is that true?

The pollution is agricultural primarialy...fertilizers for corn and growth hormones in feeds...causes tumors in the native warm water fish.

The clean up has been to pay the farms not to raise certain crops and raise livestock.

You help pay for it when you go to the grocery store..

How bout the Upper New, Prince to Thurman. Alot of flat water there. You will have to deal with two Class 3 Rapids. No biggy though, you can sneak these rapids. Its a good 7-8 hour trip. Or you can paddle the Middle New. Thurman to Cunard, with only one good rapid at the end of the trip.Surprise.
