Sorry, I painted with a broad brush again.

I digress.

I was born in Ohio, spent most of my 60 some years in WV, currently spend half a year in Downeast Maine and I've never had a problem with being from "away". But then, I don't try to change people or things, I don't tell people things should be done a different way like they are in Ohio or WV or Maine. I don't look down on anyone. Matter of fact, I try to learn from those neighbors and town people. I ask questions and I get answers and explanations. If you "go with the flow", you'll find it a lot easier to find friendly people who are willing to stop and talk or help you with whatever you need.

My experience here has not been favorable as an "outsider". My heritage can be traced back to the mid 1700s from Wayne County to Logan and Mingo Counties. Mom and Dad were both born here... and I spent a lot time here growing up and as an adult. I am a first generation Ohioan and am treated strictly as a "Buckeye".

Just a little frustrating...

That could be remedied with a small investment...one MOUNTAINEER PROUD sweatshirt...and don't forget the hat.
