Default Visiting Wheeling in April...

I was looking up casual dining and came across Generations Pub - What the heck are longnecks?

Also, any recommendations for dining in Wheeling? This will be my 3rd trip but every time I've been I've ended up just eating at Perkins. lol

One more thing, favorite family activities in Wheeling? I'm already going to the Good Zoo (been there before and I love it!). Neat little shops I should check out?

I'm visiting with my parents and my 1 yr old son. They are looking into moving there and I'd like to follow suit for those who are curious.

Talking RE: Good restaurants and stuff to do in Wheeling

Hello:

My all time favorite restaurant in Wheeling is Uncle Pete's on Main Street. Neat old building, lots of charm and good food. Never had a bad meal there.

I think Longnecks at Generations Pub are beers. Generations is good also.

You have been to the Good Zoo, so you know Oglebay is wonderful, especially in the spring with the lovely flowers blooming.

Cabelas (an outdoor enthusiasts' store) has a wonderful indoor fresh water fish tank.

The parks are very nice here. Wheeling Park is beautiful.

There is a lot of building going on by the Cabela's store, with lots of restaurants and shops opening.

Centre Market is fun to visit also, historic and has a great restaurant which serves crepes, called Later Alligator.

Have fun on your visit!

Call DiCarlo's pizza in Elm Grove (it must be that one) and order a tray of pizza and a bag of extra cheese. Do this after 3:00 pm when they open. Then go down and pick it up and take it somewhere and wolf it down, cause they don't have tables there.

Want tables? Go to the Bella Via and have some sausage and peppers or linguine and white clam sauce.

Good Friday? Find Coleman's Fish in the center market and have a delicious fish sandwich.

Or, for the ultimate Northern Panhandle experience, go down to Benwood and find Undo's and order a steak or pasta and some wine and sit out on the patio beside the ruin of an old steel pipe mill in an old Slovak neighborhood. Now that's living.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also looking into the Children's museum there.

Is Generations a good place to meet people??

Default Martins Ferry

A couple of place I like:

1)Cross the river to the Ohio side, go North on 7 to the second light. Go right. Up past the Martins Ferry water treatment plant is a neat little bar/restaurant on the river.

2) Hoss's in Elm Grove

3) There is a German restaurant somewhere in WHeeling. I want to go there some time. I've seen it advertised in the WHeeling intelligencer.
