Jumping the gun a bit.
And counting my newts before they hatch.
But what's the rental market like in Romney? At first I'd be looking for a 1br (maybe 2), but within 6-8 months, I'll be needing a 3+ br while we look for a house to buy.
Preferably pet friendly (as in, we have newts, turtles, and snakes (and kids, but they don't count, though they should!)), clean-ish, decently priced.
Thanks,
Newt

ha ha ha...Romney? ha ha ha...
I would send a request to the post office (Postmaster) in Romney explaining what you are wanting...
Ask them to post that letter on their bullietin board...also say that you are a big WVU fan and are coming down from Michigan to live in Wv.
If that doesn't get some results for you then everybody has moved to Keyser!

Lol, will keep that in mind. Seems like Deja vu. Like I've done this all before... hmmmm
Hoping Justin will find a job somewhere decently close. Maybe Winchester. Not sure yet. If anyone has any ideas, we're glad to hear 'em.

He's kind of looking for anything. He wants to get out of security work, and he's got a bum shoulder, so he's looking for something not too strenuous. Like delivery drivers (not pizza), or something other than customer service. He's previously worked at UPS and FedEx and Budweiser (before the shoulder blew out).
Thanks for the link, Janipoo. I browsed through it quickly, and there seems to be a decent selection in the area. I'll definitely be calling some of those people if the DNR thinks I'd make a good fish manager

newt sounds like he could stand to be evaluated for retraining since much of his resume doesn't match up with his physical ability anymore. Any way he can get over to dept of labor with that inquiry? Test interest and aptitude to see where the best bang for his buck in retraining belongs. There are only so many times a body can start at the bottom and work their way up before it wears on them, and living on the 'anything' plan too long all but guarantees a career of perpetual low wage.

Thanks for that suggestion. I'll have him look into it. I keep trying to convince him to go back to school. Maybe something like a vet tech (we're both bio nerds). We'll see.

Why not get him into WV Civil Service...Testing done in Hampshire County 2 times a month in every job department known to man...Residency might be an issue..Call the Vo-tech Center and find out about the testing..usually at 6 pm until 9...but the location? I can't remember..

Ooh, maybe.
I bet he would totally go for the 'park ranger' type stuff.
