Thumbs up Swine Flu Outbreak--40 Cases Reported and Triggers Worldwide Action as Health Emergency.

On 23rd April, 2009 the world population was being aware to a very strange and new version of flu named as Swine Flu. 7 cases reported by CDC that only located in Mexico within Texas and California. From that day; the figure is raised continually until now. The recent figure on 27th April, 2009; given by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and world health organization (WHO) declared total 40 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in different states.

This emerging health threat is declared as a “Public Health Emergency” in the United States. Swine Flu is caused by Swine Influenza A Virus. This is the virus that pigs normally get but people can also do get it as evident in recent cases.

This virus is highly contagious and spreads from one infected people to another. Swine Influenza A Viruses produce similar symptoms in infected individuals like normal flu and include fatigue, lethargy, cough, fever, chills, body aches, headache and sore throat. They may become severe in extreme cases.

Swine Flu is a pandemic with no applicable vaccine available right now, reported by CDC. Individual to individual transmission of Swine Flu Virus occurs in the same way as seasonal flu spreads in community. This transmission mostly occurs through sneezing and coughing of infected individual and touching of something that is contaminated with Swine Flu Virus.

As it is said that prevention is better than cure, in cases of viral infection it’s most reliable. Preventive measures are better than curative measures in this regard. WHO gives some preventive measures that are helpful to prevent healthy individual to become a victim of Swine Flu Virus. Avoid close contact to infected individuals, wash hands with soap and water thoroughly, use properly cooked pork food, properly cover mouth and nose with face masks if you are outside the home or in closed vicinity of infected individual, practice good health and eating habits like adequate sleep, eating of nutritious food to support overall health and also keep yourself physically active.

Herbs-Wholesale brings a good range of immune supporting nutritional supplements that supports and prevents individual’s body against viral infection.

And you trust the media and the government to be honest with us about what is going on? Yea right, and only Gay people can get AIDS. I think we've heard this line before from the powers that be.

Media
159 deaths
Map: Swine flu cases worldwide - Swine flu- msnbc.com

WHO
7 deaths

Discrepancy noted.

On the other end, situation reports and tallies coming from people on the ground in Mexico, including doctors at hospitals, add more discrepancies, posing the question of whether incidents are being under-reported.

What to believe? There's a lot of noise to sift through. Doesn't make someone hysterical because they're looking for facts.

No, I don't think I really can. I've already moved the date up once to the 1st. Which already cost me an additional $180.00 in addition my already $1,300.00 round trip ticket. But I don't think I'll have any problems. I've been thinking about getting a mask though for when I'm in the airports just to be safe. I'm not overly concerned about the swine flu, I know they are saying its targeting people in their prime and all but I have an outstanding immune system, and I'm actually more concerned about the regular common flu.

My friends and family are scared though that they will close the borders before I can get home. I'm leaving here on Friday morning at 8:40am (2:40 am Eastern Standard Time in America) and flying to Munich then to Chicago. Waiting around for 4 hours in Chicago then getting into Pittsburgh at 9:30 pm. So I'll basically be traveling either in air or in airports for 19 hours.

It's also sucky to because Jake still has to stay till July, so we have to do a long distance relationship for 2 months

The part I don't understand is why "they" are simply calling this 'swine flu'. I've read several reports claiming this is a combination of swine flu, bird flu (HN51) and human flu. If that is really the case I would think the bird flu part of this thing may become the dangerous part? I remember also that the bird flu was expected to hit the young and healthy the hardest, just like this seems to be doing. During all the bird flu hype the past couple years, the gov't explained it would take up to a year to develop a vaccine if it started spreading human to human. My guess is that timeline still applies, although I don't trust the side effects a new vaccine may have.
It's horrible that we've come to distrust our government so much that we suspect treachery, or at least dishonesty in something as serious as they are telling us this is. I'm wondering how many millions/billions in profit will be made from the sale of Tamiflu - and who's making all that profit?

GHO: Better get a good mask and wear it in inside the plane...the air you breathe is being re-cycled by everyone.
The big air vent to avoid is directly in front of the first seat on the starboard side of the craft.

If this health scare was a reality, everyone would be standing in line to get a mandatory shot...and the drug companies would be producing more vaccine.
It's a smoke screen to cover up some other crime.

Crooks in government?...1915 in Russia...Prison doors were left open and those criminals became the leaders of that country...Here (USA) we just have a big party and elect them...

After thought: Buy Smithfield Farms common stock now, while its low.

ok, I'm going to hold my breath till cody gets home. I"m scared for you too. I can't imagine what your family is going through!

Can you get a mask over there? If you are wearing one, at least people will think maybe you are sick and stay away from you as much as they can! Maybe you are better off staying where you are?

David, you want to talk about crooks in government? 1915 was a long time ago but we can come up with a very looooog list after that. I'm not buying smithfield stock, but I am guarding our pig bertha, like a hawk!

I just read an article about the 1918 flu and the impact it had on WV. I'll see if I can get the link back.

Sorry, looks like I answered the question before it was asked . .

I agree with you, it's sad we have to be suspect of those in government who purport to represent us, but worse, we have trust issues with our watchdog too, mass media, because investigative journalism is all but dead in this country. Omission of fact is the same thing as a lie. When we don't know people in government are making money from the decisions they make, that ignorance is not entirely our fault. If newspapers printed truth now and then, who knows, people might start reading them again.

What the current occupant of the White House is talking about is $1.5 billion. So where we might disagree on particulars in these conversations, I'm going to repeat what I said earlier . . follow the money.

There is validity in questioning whether or not this is a man-made virus, and it's like people shut off their brains about that in a state of shock because they can't handle a government would do such a thing to them. That denial is in disregard of history.

There are questions : if this were an epidemic, common sense dictates all persons incoming from Mexico, especially Mexico City, would be quarantined coming off the plane, or sought out after-the-fact to monitor. Instead of acting with prudence, our government instead volunteered the response, "It's too late to contain".

As others are pointing out, this might be convenience, a sleight of hand, distraction from the fraud and treachery or latest treason being committed.

Hard to say which is worse, corruption or ineptitude.

Further speculation : Prior to this flu, Mexico was in a position to be overthrown or in state of political upheaval, but they are now under conditions just shy of martial law. So if this exercise was merely a template for controlling the population : mission accomplished.
