I believe it is valid to ask ... since revenue is much less than expected, and they have already reduced services to the public greatly while protecting the bloated and overpaid political appointee hack system, where will the money come from to build that $100 million road to the strip pit in Lincoln County the Governor is pushing? Everywhere else is forced to have a TIF and raise funds locally for such projects. What will be cut to throw money down that Lincoln County economic black hole at the expense of everyone else?

Default Issues in the State DoH

Ever wonder why our state government doesn't have enough money to adequately fix our roads, and seems to be building roads in the middle of nowhere? We all know about some of the decisions that have been make, but graft, corruption, nepotism and other issues also play a role in the problem right along with that decline in coal severance tax collections.

Four people, including highly placed state employees and a Marshall professor, face federal kickback charges.

This doesn't even include where it's simply a political pay back.

Yep, and anybody who has followed state politics over the years knows our state is literally inundated with those.

It is bad that anybody accepts bribes and kickbacks.

However, in my opinion, the DOH isn't near as bad as it used to be. Many years ago, every 4-8 years there was a house-cleaning based on the results of the election.

Still does not excuse the kickbacks, though.
